First Responders

There seems to be some confusion about the role of "First Responders" and what they actually do.

First Responders are:

Police
Firemen
Medics

Responders come to the scene after a disaster.

They do not PREVENT disasters.

The confusion arises from the common motto of Police Departments: "To Protect and Serve". Regular folks expect the police to "Protect" them....in what might be called a "Pro-Active" way; when, in fact, the role of the police is almost entirely "Re-Active", responding to something that's already happened.

See, it's right there in the name: "RESPONDERS".

Responders respond, Protectors protect, the responders show up after there are dead people.

What people expect of the police is actually the mission of a Security Team: to prevent disasters.

Some rich people, famous people, important people, elected people have security teams.

Regular folks don't. It's up to each of us to be our own "Security Team".

And that's just what Øbama and the progs will prevent us from doing if they can get their way.

Just look at what they're doing to the military recruiters....

Pure Logic

In the conversation about unarmed military guys getting shot by muslims, one guy said this:

"The Armed Services should be armed."

How does the pure, unadulterated logic of that escape government apparatchiks?

/gun

Succinctly Poetic

About the armed citizens guarding recruitment centers:

"Citizens are placing themselves in harms way to protect those who are supposed to serve and protect us but can't because of cowardly generals groveling before the gay lobbyists."

Now that's downright poetic!

Killing Christ

You think I'm....

Never mind. You get the idea:

"When the attacks on freedom of speech and religious liberty are coupled with the dangerously imprecise National Defense Authorization Law, the nation is faced with a poisonous mix that could well prove fatal to liberty.

If American Christians and others of faith, including those in the military, don't rise up against the tyrannous conduct of this administration, they shouldn't be surprised when their local priests, pastors, or chaplains are hauled away to prison for teaching what the Church believes."

Read the whole thing.

This foulness isn't defeated in November, we are totally screwed. And unless we get a real conservative to immediately start rolling back the worst of the asshole's offenses and outrages, we're screwed anyway.

The Left WILL NOT STOP. But we have not been vigilant.

And this is what happens.

Evil does not rest....so neither can righteousness.

Clumsy Oaf...

Haven't confirmed this story, but I like it, so it doesn't matter.

Seems some people are just uncoordinated and fall hard.

Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Ga. - A U.S. Marine reservist collecting toys for children was stabbed when he helped stop a suspected shoplifter in eastern Georgia.

Best Buy sales manager Orvin Smith told The Augusta Chronicle that man was seen on surveillance cameras Friday putting a laptop under his jacket at the Augusta store.

When confronted, the man became irate, knocked down an employee, pulled a knife and ran toward the door.

Outside were four Marines collecting toys for the service branch's "Toys For Tots" program.

Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of them, Cpl. Phillip Duggan, in the back. The cut did not appear to be severe.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was held until police arrived. The Richmond County Sheriff's office said it is investigating.

The suspect was transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken leg, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions and assorted lacerations including a broken nose and jaw.... Injuries he sustained when he fell trying to run after stabbing the Marine.

Our military is at the mercy of the Moonbats

Insightful discussion of what repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" would really look like in the military.

And the critical difference between "tolerance" and "acceptance/endorsement".

"…it is not possible for the military to merely “tolerate” openly-avowed homosexuality, in the way civilians think of tolerating it.  What the military does now, with DADT, is tolerate homosexuality.  It officially doesn’t ask, and doesn’t even want to know, unless one servicemember’s activities create a discipline or readiness problem."

The assault never ends. Øbama. What a friggin' train wreck.

Maverick

From the video intro:

"They set their video camera on the bumper of their armored HMMWV, which they were using for cover. Keep an eye on the van parked just down the street facing the camera. On the audio you can hear them shooting back and forth.

The rounds you can hear are from the Marines and the ones you hear pinging against the side of the vehicle with no accompanying pop are from the bad guys. When the JTAC says "they just fired rifle", that means the F-16 aircraft just launched the Maverick missile. You can hear it come in and see it strike the vehicle the bad guys were using for cover. Talk about pinpoint accuracy! End of story...for the bad guys.

Bottom line ... when you are engaged against enemy on the ground, it is most comforting to have a JTAC, airborne or embedded with you, able to call in some 'serious hurt' on the bad guys"

US Military in Haiti?

Marines are going to provide "security" in Haiti.

That means "policing".

How many Marines will be prosecuted for shooting looters?

Or perhaps "punching" one (like the Navy Seals)?

Do they have to "Mirandize" everyone they arrest? And provide a lawyer?

And bring them to the USA for trial?

SEALS vs WORMS

Something has GOT to be done...
Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges
People, ENOUGH IS A FUCKING 'NOUGH!

What the hell is the MATTER with these people?

Sometimes I feel like weeping for my country. But then I shoot a few rounds until the feeling passes.

Defenders of Freedom: American Vets

The Price of Abandoning the Troops

Big Government makes the necessary observations in this article. And a commenter made the following points that somebody in the military ought to be thinking about:

A few obvious problems with Newsweek's hypothesis.

Hasan never deployed. Hasan never saw combat or spent long time away from "home". Hasan wasn't married and had no children. Hasan received promotions despite his obvious inadequacies and psychological profile. Much like a Harvard Affirmative Action student, Hasan was given every advantage because of his religion and ethnicity, his every flaw overlooked for political correctness sake.

The commanders have a big problem on their hands. Now that the soldiers know their commanders don't have their backs, they may become a bit restless. In fact, they may become a military on the brink.

Who will be willing to serve in a military that casually sacrifices his life for diversity and political correctness?

Beware the seeds you sow, General Casey.

They Died for Diversity

Undoubtedly General Casey, Chief of Staff of the Army, is gratified that people died rather than DIVERSITY! After all, it is DIVERSITY—not dedicated, proud, honorable, selfless American soldiers, our fathers, mothers, children, brothers and sisters, willing to sacrifice their lives for their country and freedom—that makes the Army strong.
The National Association of Chiefs of Police Terrorism Committee received a list of those killed in what's come to be known as The Fort Hood Massacre.

The shootings were perpetrated by Major Malik Nadal Hasan on the same day as a graduation ceremony at the base. The deadly attack began at the Soldier Readiness Center at Fort Hood.
The following are the names of the honored dead:

-- Lt. Col. Juanita L. Warman, 55, of Havre De Grace, Md. She was assigned to the 1908th Medical Company, Independence, Mo.

-- Maj. Libardo Caraveo, 52, of Woodbridge, Va. He was assigned to the 467th Medical Detachment, Madison, Wis.

-- Capt. John P. Gaffaney, 54, of San Diego. He was assigned to the 1908th Medical Company, Independence, Mo.

-- Capt. Russell Seager, 41, of Racine, Wis. He was assigned to the 467th Medical Company, Madison, Wis.

-- Staff Sgt. Justin Decrow, 32, of Plymouth, Ind. He was assigned to the 16th Signal Company at Fort Hood.

-- Sgt. Amy Krueger, 29, of Kiel, Wis. She was assigned to the 467th Medical Company, Madison, Wis.

-- Spc. Jason Hunt, 22, of Tillman, Okla. He was assigned to the 1st Brigade at Fort Hood.

-- Spc. Frederick Greene, 29, of Mountain City, Tenn. He was assigned to the 16th Signal Company at Fort Hood.

-- Pfc. Aaron Nemelka, 19, of West Jordan, Utah. He was assigned to the 510th Engineer Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, at Fort Hood.

-- Pfc. Michael Pearson, 22, of Bolinbrook, Ill. He was assigned to the 510th Engineer Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, at Fort Hood.

-- Spc. Kham Xiong, 23, of St. Paul, Minn. He was assigned to the 510th Engineer Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, at Fort Hood.

-- Pvt. Francheska Velez, 21, of Chicago. She was assigned to the 15th Combat Support Battalion at Fort Hood.

-- Michael Cahill of Cameron, Texas, a Fort Hood civilian employee.

How long are we going to put up with a nation that operates like this?
