More Øbama Bad Choices

More on the corruption and Progressive Tyranny front:  Obama's  absurd commission to look into the BP oil rig explosion includes at least two anti-oil, global warming activists.

What a friggin' surprise. Almost as brilliant as putting a pedophile in charge of school safety.

Or an enemy of Free Speech in charge of the FCC...

Or an enemy of Equality Before the Law in charge of the Justice Department...

Or an enemy of the Free Market in charge of Green Jobs...

Or an enemy of Freedom in charge of Regulation...

...et cetera ad nauseum

It's pretty hard to be surprised. But it's still easy to be disgusted.

Wes Tunnel of Texas A&M, (apparently someone whose brain has not yet been eaten), said...
...the selections indicate the panel will look at broad energy policies. "That's too bad," he said. "We need to focus on what happened here and what we can learn from this."

Ya think?

Gulf OIl

As to the question about why the Ø Regime is dealing so poorly with the BP Rig spill, I have found two lovely comments, each of which represent one of two ways of viewing this administration:

They are EVIL:
"They are waiting for a "crisis" to become a disaster that they can exploit in order to gain control of the petroleum industry. This is not incompetence on display. Everything they do, or refuse to do, is calculated to advance the agenda. They do not care about anything else."
They are STUPID:
"The administration environmentalists who demand to make the final decisions and yet refuse to approve making a little mess to prevent making a much bigger mess are the ones turning an accident into a catastrophe."

Of course, that's only if you read them separately. If you combine them, you get a glimpse of the bigger picture:
"They are waiting for a "crisis" to become a disaster that they can exploit in order to gain control of the petroleum industry... and administration environmentalists who demand to make the final decisions and yet refuse... [approval]... are turning an accident into...[the] catastrophe [the regime is hoping for]."

Post America

I want the media to stop calling the Russian invasion of Georgia a "conflict"...as though there were two participants...two equally involved entities.

Russia has invaded Georgia. End of story. Putin is an incipient Stalin. Let's be clear people. This is the beginning of the resurgence of the Russian bully-boy.

The worse part is that Russia is going to be stronger than us if we don't get our shit straightened out about energy. They're consolidating power based on control of oil and energy. And they are not worried about global warming.

They are only interested in global domination.

If we don't watch out, this century will be the Cino-Rus era. We'll be very much like Britain...after the dissolution of the Empire.

China has the money. Russia has the energy. We are so fucked.

Bush's Energy Plan

INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

"Energy Policy: Imagine an energy plan that does it all , from allowing more oil drilling to spending billions on alternative energy sources such as wind, solar and nuclear. Well, guess what? Been there, done that.

IBD Series: Breaking The Back Of High Oil

'Energy has enormous implications for our economy, our environment and our national security," President Bush said in proposing the plan. "We cannot let another year go by without addressing these issues together in a comprehensive and balanced package."

That was in JUNE 2001, more than seven years ago.

His words came just after he first proposed a comprehensive energy bill that included 105 separate steps the U.S. should take to boost its energy supplies. It was something he promised repeatedly while campaigning for the presidency in 2000. He kept his promise. His first plan included, among many other things:

New drilling for more oil and gas and new refineries.

Building of nuclear power plants.

Revamping the U.S. electricity grid.

$10 billion in tax breaks to help push energy efficiency and alternative energy.

The fact is, these are remarkably similar to the plans that economists, oil experts and energy wonks say need to be put in place today in order to end our oil crisis.

Yet, those proposals went nowhere, not approved in 2001, not in 2002, not in 2003, not ever. Bush tried repeatedly to get something through Congress. He pleaded. He tried to cut deals with Democrats. It didn't work.

A New York Times headline from August 20, 2003, sums it up: "Ambitious Bush Plan Is Undone by Energy Politics."

That's an understatement. Instead, Democrats ridiculed Vice President Cheney for meeting with oil industry representatives to craft U.S. energy policy , and for insisting on finding more oil.

They had no plan themselves, mind you , apart from massively expensive global warming initiatives that would force Americans to lower their standard of living to Third World levels by spending as much as $800 billion a year to cool Earth.

Yet, if Bush's plan had been put in place in 2001, we'd have replaced millions of barrels of oil, billions of tons of coal and untold trillions of acre feet of natural gas with clean, safe nuclear power.

We'd be pumping millions of barrels more of oil, creating thousands of American jobs, cutting prices and saving literally hundreds of billions of dollars every year, money that today goes to line the pockets of the Saudi royal family, Venezuelan petrotyrant Hugo Chavez, Libyan leader-for-life Muammar Qadhafi and Vladimir Putin's Russia.

When the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007, and oil was $50 a barrel and corn $2 a bushel, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid promised an energy plan. We're still waiting for it. Today, crude oil is $134 and corn is $6.50.

It's pretty clear who's to blame: Congress. In fact, House and Senate Democrats have obstructed any progress in America's fight to regain some semblance of energy independence.

"Now is the time for Congress to move and get something done," President Bush said all the way back in August 2003. He's still waiting, and so are we.

Bush's original energy plan, derided by the Democrats and so-called progressives as a wet-kiss to Big Oil, was in fact a visionary plan. At the time, Reid joked that GOP now stood for"Gas, Oil and Plutonium." Funny, we don't hear anyone laughing now.

Such puerile shenanigans, as we've said before, endanger our security and weaken our standard of living."

Thanks, Nancy.

Critical Times

Ok, I don't what he'd actually do...but I sure like his response better.

McCain may just have earned my vote.

The Evil Empire fell. It didn't expire. We might want to remember that.

For Lord of the Rings geeks like me...think Sauron...gathering his strength to rise again.

Not a pretty idea. And Georgia...an ambitious and thriving democracy. We should be there helping them. But I think the energy crisis is stopping us. And we should be ashamed we have become so weak and dependent that we can't help our friends because we're in thrall to the devil for oil.

Drill here. Drill now.

Spine or Fingers In the Wind?

I'd like to think the Republicans are growing backbones, but I doubt it. Nevertheless, if they've gotten the message of rage from citizens, at least that's something.

Democrats are clearly deaf and blind, and seem to be pretending there are no citizens to whom they are responsible. Especially the leadership who are too busy "saving the world", to actually serve their constituencies.

Fucking amazing.

If the Republicans actually pull this off, I'll be very proud of them. It might even delay my re-registration as an Independent for a couple of days.

I guess I don't really care why they do the right thing...like because they're (rightly) afraid of losing their jobs...as long as they actually do the right thing.

Drill now. Everywhere. All the time.

Another Un-Attributed Gem

The OPEC minister may look you in the eye and say, "We are at war with you infidels and have been since the embargo in the 1970s. You are so arrogant you haven't even recognized it. You have more missiles, bombs, and technology; so we are fighting with the best weapon we have and extracting on a net basis about $700 billion/year out of your economy. We will destroy you! Death to the infidels!

While I am here I would like to thank you for the following: Not developing your 250-300 year supply of oil shale and tar sands. We know if you did this, it would create thousands of jobs for U.S. citizens, expand your engineering capabilities, and keep the wealth in the U.S. instead of sending it to us to finance our war against you infidels.

Thanks for limiting defense dept. purchases of oil sands from your neighbors to the north. We love it when you confuse your allies.

Thanks for over regulating every segment of your economy and thus delaying, by decades, the development of alternate fuel technologies.

Thanks for limiting drilling off your coasts, in Alaska, and anywhere there is an insect, bird, fish, or plant that might be inconvenienced. Better that your people suffer. Glad to see our lobbying efforts have been so effective.

Corn based Ethanol. Praise Allah for this sham program! Perhaps you will destroy yourself from the inside with theses types of policies. This is a gift from Allah, praise his name! We never would have thought of this one! This is better than when you pay your farmers NOT TO GROW FOOD. Have them use more energy to create less energy, and simultaneously drive up food prices.

Thank you U.S. Congress!

And finally, we appreciate you letting us fleece you without end. You will be glad to know we have been accumulating shares in your banks, real estate, and publicly held companies. We also finance a good portion of your debt and now manipulate your markets, currency, and economies for our benefit.

THANK YOU AMERICA!"

You stupid fools!

Praise Allah!!!

Government Oil

Did you hear that stupid bitch Cynthia McKinney [see correction below] telling oil executives that she wants to "sociali...er...uh...that is...we want to...uh, what I mean is...we want the government to take over the oil companies and run them."

I guess Obie thinks this is a fine idea. So that "wealth can be distributed more equitably."

(Karl, Dude! Great idea, you oughta write a book. Call it something cool, like a "Manifesto", man!)

Blood is shooting out of my eyes and my head is exploding.

This from the Congressional brains-of-toe-jam that lost $18 million running their own cafeteria in the last few years. Wow, great idea. Let's put them in charge of oil. Cause we know how efficiently and well government works. Won't that just be special?

We have the worst government in the history of the country. Half of the "leaders" (sic) are pure-dee socialists, and the other half are spineless hosers.

We are so fucked. (WASF)

CORRECTION: As my great readers so accurately pointed out: This should read: "that stupid bitch Maxine Waters", not "that stupid bitch Cynthia McKinney", whose voters got smart and turned her out already. I was going to change the original, but I like the picture so much, I'm leaving it alone. I stand corrected. And I thank my friends for pointing it out so rapidly.

My only excuse is that I didn't read it, but heard it on the radio, and by the time I wrote it, I got the names mixed up. Shame on me. I should have fact-checked...not that there's much difference between the two ignorant chuckleheads...

Sick Bastards

An American teen was almost starved to death in Egypt...while an exchange student.

The Egyptian host "father" says he ate plenty. Calls the kid a liar. Yeah, okay, that's how he lost 58 pounds in four months, and came home a strapping 97 lbs.

The family was not Muslim, but Coptic Christians.

This is not a slam on Christians. It is a slam on Arabs. They can even fuck up Christianity.

My patience with these non-productive savages is wearing thin. We really need to get off their oil and let them sink back into the poverty-ridden obscurity and irrelevance from whence they came.

Possible?

Giving money to wild-eyed Islamofascists to make war on us is just too annoying. But, it's not like I'm going to give up my car anytime soon, either.

I don't know enough about this to judge whether this is true or nonsense. But I really like the idea of shaking off the Saudi oil shackles.
