Totalitarians Vying for Control of the Internet

"I am pleased that there is broad agreement inside the commission that we should move forward with a healthy and transparent process on an open Internet," FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said.

Yeah, right.

FCC Chairman, Julius Genachowski is Marxist promoter of "social justice" which, in case you need a translation, means Communistic Redistribution of your money and property. It's a pretty safe bet that anything he's in favor of....I'm opposed to. And this is a good example.

This innocuous sounding quote—I just love the way they pepper their totalitarian speech with words like "healthy and transparent" and "open". Just like they use "democracy" when they mean "socialism", knowing most Americans hear "democracy" and think "republic"—is banging the drum for government CONTROL of CONTENT of the internet. And don't let his lying bullshit fool you.

Julius Genachhowski is a habitue of Free Press, which the Media Research Center and NewBusters.org call "the Media Reform Wing of the Social Justice Movement", and co-author of The Structural Imbalance of Talk Radio, in which he argued for the government to "remedy" the "problem" of conservative talk radio, by among other things, forcing commercial owners who fail to abide by their (fairness doctrine?) rules to pay a fee that would subsidize (Leftwing) Public Broadcasting.

Public Comment on this further Government Grab of our freedoms...and those of commercial enterprises....and threat to the economic free market and the free exchange of ideas—is open until  January 14. Please bombard them every day....EVERY DAY...with comments AGAINST this attempt to take over and destroy this last frontier of freedom! And get every one of your liberty-loving friends to do the same thing.

Do it HERE. Click on the number 07-52. "Commission Inquiry Into Broadband Market Practices Docket, which will take you to a form for filing a comment.

Oh...and for once, John McCain gets it right:

With the threat of of a court fight looming, Democrats in Congress are mulling legislative options to promote net neutrality. But Senator John McCain, an Arizona Republican, said he introduced legislation on Thursday aimed at prohibiting the FCC from enacting rules to regulate the Internet.

You might want to send him a "atta boy".

Fast Track Fascist State

Center for Individual Freedom on Net Neutrality: Net “Neutrality” – Government’s Newest Takeover Plan and Corporate Welfare for Google
On Monday of this week, Obama’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Julius Genachowski called for new federal Net Neutrality regulations to dictate Internet traffic rules for service providers and operators. In other words, the very enterprises that brought us constant Internet innovation and invested tens of billions of dollars in infrastructure and wireless buildout are the Obama Administration’s latest target. Instead of consumers and private service providers choosing for themselves which delivery model best suits their individual needs in the real world, the government would arrogantly determine the method by which consumers can obtain online access.

To justify this latest governmental intrusion into our lives, Net Neutrality advocates constantly claim that Internet service providers are somehow waiting patiently to spring their sinister grand scheme of blocking consumers’ access to various hypothetical websites. They never seem to explain, of course, how we’ve enjoyed two decades of constant Internet growth without experiencing any such rash of oppression.
Just like the "Stimulus" and Øbamacare and Cap & Tax...it is CRITICAL and URGENT and DESPERATE that we do this now!

Of course it is.

You notice the similarity with the One-Size-Fits-All Øbamacare? The Elistists will decide what you need, and what you'll be required to purchase whether you want it or not, or whether you want something else. The STATE knows better than you what you need. There's no reason foolish, moronic, ignorant, emotional, selfish serfs should be allowed to confuse the marketplace with "choices".

What do you think this is...........America for fuck sakes?

Neutrality/Fairness - They SOUND Good, eh?

Reuters likes it.

Ergo, it must be VERY BAD.

U.S. Regulator to Unveil Open Internet Plan

Call it a gut-feeling. You can't find a single reason not to like this "democratic", for "the people" proposal in this story. From Reuters. Communist Reuters.

That means they're totally hiding the other side of the story.

The IMPORTANT side of the story.

The TRUE side of the story.

And read this from the Washington Post, in which NOBODY questions whether the fucking government should be involved at all in REGULATING the internet, cell phones, networks, providers...

Where, WHERE does the Constitution give this power to the Imperial State? Why is nobody asking that question? Is there NOTHING the Federal Government can't/won't regulate.

Why does Comcast or At&T have to explain itself to the Imperial State? Why does anyone have the "right" to force Apple to put/allow their applications on iPhones?

If iPhone customers want their services/applications badly enough, Apple will provide them or lose customers. Alternatively...if another phone company uses it and customers opt for their phones and services, Apple will either go broke or change.

It's called the Goddamned Free Market.

What the fuck is going on? I can't take it. I just can. not. take. it.

The Atheist's Bible

This is called "reporting".

Gender-Neutral Bible to be Pushed Out

The L.A. Times turns the story on it's head, reporting this fascinating quote:
New Testament scholar and author Bart Ehrman doubts the revision has as much to do with the evolution of the English language as the orthodox trends in evangelical thought.
"...evolution of the English language"?

The "Gender-Neutral" Bible was a forced, phony, artificial translation of strict adherence to the politically correct NewSpeak of the Left, that reflected no "evolution of the English language", but rather the coerced, inelegant language demanded by people offended by the word "man" and the pronoun "he".

The story, however, is framed to suggest that the new, goofy "Gender-Neutral" Bible is the standard, and the simple restoration of the original translation is some sort of new-fangled notion, insisted on by people whose prejudices demand the Bible be revised in a new, bigoted method which goes out of its way to denigrate women and offend athiests.

One has to admit the L.A. Times works hard at their agenda. Even on a small story like this, they've gone to great lengths to write it in such a way that the traditional translation of the Bible becomes a "revision" and the dopey, crackpot, politically correct NewSpeak is the "traditional" version.

And they wonder why nobody listens to a single word they say.

Libs Lose It

The Left is in a Total Tizzy about Glenn Beck's role in the Van Jones debacle.

That is....they're apoplectic about Glenn Beck's telling the truth about Van Jones.

They simply will not tolerate the dirty. underhanded. lowdown. rotten. strategy of exposing the facts.

Check out their new campaign to ruin Glenn....and Stu!

Never ever discuss the issues...just attack the messenger.

So typical. So tiresome.

Øbama's White House Fumbles Another One

White House Withdraws Call for Students to Help President.

This administration is being battered from every direction. Because they can't seem to help doing really stupid stuff.

This is another good development...another good humiliation for the boobs in D.C.

It's also why we cannot allow them to do that next big thing: Shut down Conservative Media.

Without them...imagine what would be going on right now...

It's the most important issue of all. Keeping our lines of communication open, our lifeline to the truth...it's that line in the sand we cannot allow them to cross...at any cost...by whatever means necessary.

Uber-State CyberCops Coming to a Computer Near You

I know you've all heard about this. But my day wouldn't be complete it I didn't bash the Øbamasshole over this amazing suggestion...don't think for a moment his regime's hacks weren't involved in this beauty up to their eyeballs:

Bill Would Give President Emergency Control of Internet

Is there a human being on the planet over 10 who didn't see this shit coming?

Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet.

They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.

The new version would allow the president to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" relating to "non-governmental" computer networks and do what's necessary to respond to the threat. Other sections of the proposal include a federal certification program for "cybersecurity professionals," and a requirement that certain computer systems and networks in the private sector be managed by people who have been awarded that license.

"I think the redraft, while improved, remains troubling due to its vagueness," said Larry Clinton, president of the Internet Security Alliance, which counts representatives of Verizon, Verisign, Nortel, and Carnegie Mellon University on its board. "It is unclear what authority Sen. Rockefeller thinks is necessary over the private sector. Unless this is clarified, we cannot properly analyze, let alone support the bill."

I could be wrong...but I'd call that the understatement of the friggin' year...

Oh...and could Olympia Snowe be any more of a tool?

Fascist IS as Fascist DOES

Control of Information is here!

Just like the fascists they are, Democrats want to stop Republicans from sending the famous "healthcare chart" to constituents.

I might add, of course, that anyone who hasn't seen it already isn't paying attention. Then again, I suppose those are just the sort of people the Republicans are trying to reach.

Of course, if the Democrats have anything to do with it, everyone who doesn't agree with them will be silenced on pain of imprisonment.

I know you think I'm kidding...

But no.

What First Amendment?

I want to say that the draconian, sweeping and massive powers over citizens' speech, action, and freedom claimed by the Obama administration are astonishing. But I'd be lying. Nothing about this troll could "astonish" me, unless, that is, he suddenly becomes a defender of the Constitution of the United States of America, and a devoted capitalist.

"The government lawyer also suggested that books could be prohibited in the same way McCain-Feingold restricts the airing of certain political advertisements within 30 days of a primary or 60 days of a general election. That proposition did not sit well with the court's conservative members.

'That's pretty incredible,' Justice Samuel Alito exclaimed.

Justice Antonin Scalia who has consistently ruled against restrictions on campaign speech rhetorically asked the government lawyer if the First Amendment "cover[s] the right of any individual to -- to write, to publish?"

Obama and the Oboobs want very much to shut you and me up.

And they don't even seem to know (or care about) the limits of the law they're invoking:

"Chief Justice Roberts asked Stewart if a 500-page book that contained a single statement of support for a candidate would be subject to the same restrictions and [FEC lawyer] Stewart's response was that, yes it could. However, the electioneering communications rules only apply to broadcast, cable, or satellite transmission messages."

Ken Klukowski at American Thinker is a little more descriptive and blunt:

"The Obama Administration claimed that BCRA allows the federal government to ban a 600-page book if it mentions a candidate's name only once, a 90-minute movie if it mentions a candidate's name once, or even a toy action figure of a candidate. If the organization uses a single dime of its general funds to produce, promote or distribute any such materials during the "blackout" periods, it becomes a federal crime.

Citizens United v. FEC perfectly reflects these concerns. As Olson emphasized in his closing statements, BCRA includes draconian penalties for alleged violations. Selling a banned movie, book or even toy action figure is a felony under this law, punishable by five years in federal prison. If someone can only speak out about political candidates by facing such a possibility, Olson concluded, "He won't dare take the chance."

Keep your powder dry.
