Popular Culture IS Politics

Byron York on Breitbart:  In Politics Fight, Breitbart Knew Culture is Key

"...those who write a nation’s songs are more influential than those who write a nation’s laws."

This is something we Libertarians and Conservatives cannot ignore. This is how you win or lose an empire...and a culture.

Minnesotans in Sweat Lodges

Seriously, can't these people just go to church?

Okay. I don't, I admit. I'm a Conservative Heathen, if you need a label. I believe in God, but I'm not a Christian. The Christians used to call us heathens. Seems as good a name as any.

If was going to experiment with a "New Age" religion, I'd pick one that actually reflected my culture and heritage, like Witchcraft or Odinism. Say what you want about them, they're based in European traditions.

Why do flaky, unfulfilled white people insist on intruding themselves into native faith systems like Voodoo or any Native American Religious Cosmos?

Culture has consequences. And I know it's hard for the pinhead Liberal "seekers" to understand, but they are not all equal, and they are not all interchangeable...and you can't expect to go slogging around in another culture's traditions and expect to get the same results the natives get because, like it or not, you bring all of your cultural baggage, habits, expectations and limitations to the teepee.

Whether it was badly planned or well planned but just too much for culturally unprepared participants, this sad incident reflects this fundamental misunderstanding.

European-Americans: Get a pentacle, write a grimoire, dance in the heath, light candles, praise Odin or the Moon Goddess, cast spells or read the Runes ...

...but stay the hell out of Sweat Lodges and Oúfos*, for God's sake.

Let me put it in a way you'll understand: Stop being imperialists colonizing other people's cultural territory.

Homespun Wisdom Trumps Global Stupidity

Speaking of the Dog Whisperer, I just read this quote from him...

"Dogs don’t follow emotional leaders or lovable leaders; they follow calm-assertive leaders. This is the same for all animals in the animal kingdom. Humans are the only animals that follow unstable, emotional leaders around the world." [Emphasis, mine. GS]

So, dogs, horses and elephants, when given the chance, pick better leaders than we do. That's a humbling thought. And this bit of potentially world changing wisdom is brought to us by a guy born and raised in rural Mexico. Not exactly the sophisticated urban world of our own political and cultural elite.

Too bad Cesar Millan can't run for president.

Of course, if a guy from Kenya....

Moderating Mr. Hyde

Amsterdam has announced that it will close brothels and "coffee shops"...in order to clean up the old city area that has become a sewer of money-laundering and organized crime, and associated with "human trafficking", by which I suppose they mean slavery, but you certainly cannot expect the Associated Press to actually say that!

Hmmm...who could have imagined it?

That a place where sex and drug libertinism is welcomed, encouraged, fostered and pandered to would turn into a decadent cesspool.

I'm shocked. Shocked, I say!

It's hard to figure out why Liberals are so stupid. They will consistently do the same destructive things over and over, and never, ever learn the lesson. One despairs.

What dysfunction in the Liberal brain disallows learning?

I mean, I used to be a liberal, and I learned. I used to think that the idea of discouraging or disapproving of promiscuity and drug use was "uptight" and "square". But after watching the effects on actual people, and their broken and ruined lives, their unhappy, damaged psyches...I finally faced facts. Living for and wantonly feeding your appetites weakens the divine in humans, and empowers the mindless beast.

And nothing good comes of that.

It may not be the answer 21st century, urban sophisticates want to hear, but there it is.

Yet somehow, even in the face of the supremely obvious, modern, sophisticated, tolerant, free-wheeling Amsterdam still thinks it can both encourage and fuel man's lowest nature, and avoid the logical and inescapable results of doing so.

I think Mr. Savage is right. It's a mental disorder. There is a disconnect between action and consequences that is usually only found in broken minds or untrained dogs and children.

Between a Roof and a Hot Griddle

I don't know if he'll make it, but this asshole absolutely deserves to be included in the "Wannabe Darwin Awards".

That's for those who tried, but failed, to actually kill themselves through pure stupidity. (I just made that up.)

But even without that honor, he deserves our thanks for the low comedy he's provided for our entertainment.

I wonder if he knows Charles Ray fuller.

If You Don't Have a Mind, What Gets "Boggled"?

One doesn't want to beat the "Bell Curve" gong too deafeningly here...but seriously, how many people are this on-the-cusp-of-brain-dead stupid? How the hell does this guy tie his shoes? I'm surprised he could even find the bank.

Please meet Charles Ray Fuller.

Remember him when you thank God for your blessings. No matter how bad things get...no matter how much you lose. Naked and destitute, with just what's in your own skull, you're a thousand times richer than this pathetic boob.

Spicoli needs this guy in his crew to make him look like rocket scientist.

Government Beats its Breast

This is a very weird (and sad) story.

A Washington, D.C. mother apparently murdered all her daughters, and left their bodies rotting in her apartment for weeks. That's the sad part...and creepy.

Here's the weird part: Everyone involved with this story seems to assume that much responsibility lies with the government workers; who should somehow have "prevented this tragedy".

No one involved has even questioned this assumption that the "System" failed!

Excuse me??

How about the "Mommy" failed? And her "Family" failed? And her "Lifestyle" failed! How about "crazy women with 4 babies (of 2 daddies), and no husband" failed? How about "Having lots of kids when you're so poor you can't pay rent" failed?

M-M-M-My Generation

PJ O'Rourke has written a scathing piece on the Baby Boom generation. Generation Vex. It's hilariously funny...as O'Rourke is wont to be. But the huge, honkin' nut of truth at the center of it is, well, vexing.

"Prevention" is Delusion

The frenzy to figure out how the massacre at Virgina Tech could have been prevented is in full swing. Every thing the University did or failed to do, everything the local police did or failed to do, everything the killer's parents did or failed to do will be examined minutely in the hope of finding the magic mistake, that if "fixed", will prevent this from "ever happening again".

Didn't we do that after Columbine? Don't we do that every time? Has it worked so far?

It is pathetic to see adults engaged in this delusional enterprise.

Oh, some things are learned, and some measures taken add a level of safety to certain situations. And that's good. But things like this cannot be prevented. Bad guys will always do bad things. Shit happens. People go mad. Evil stalks the world. Get over it.

Utopia is not attainable. The perfection of society, people, or security plans is not possible. Living in the delusion that they ARE possible leads to nothing but misery when we fail. We are crushed by dissapointment and a sense of failure. We blame ourselves or others. It divides and conquers our spirits.

The best we can do is be prepared to meet such inevitable violence with composure, determination and sufficient force to contain it, and minimize its scope and body count.

Once we stop pretending we can "prevent this from ever happening again", and instead realize that we must be vigilant and prepared to deal with its inevitability, we will be in a position to develop responses and policies that might actually make a difference.

Example of "Diversity"

I think we can be assured that this sort of "diversity" is being imported with the flood of illegal Mexicans pouring over our border. They do not leave their culture of violence, corruption and intimidation at the border when the cross it.

When Mexicans start killing journalists in America, who, exactly will the Liberal Media blame?

France: At it Again

Thank you, Lord, for not making me French.

More Big Brother control afoot in Cheeseland. I just can't figure out how people can be fooled into believing that Liberals are for FREEDOM!

Their every word and act demonstrate their affinity and desire for total control of every facet of our lives. And This story from France is a perfect example.

Rich Greedy Doctor Sues 11 Year-Old Girl

This asshole comes from the bottom of the barrel. This is what America tolerates.

The jury stood on their hind feet and repudiated the good doctor...but how the hell did it get to the point of a jury trial in the first place.

And how much did it cost the family of the little girl?

What a low-down, dirty sonofabith.

Thank you, Trial Lawyers. Thank you opponents of Tort Reform. Thank you Liberal Judges.

Nice work.

Survival of the Fittest

An animal lover was mauled to death by cheetahs after entering their cage at a zoo in northern Belgium, authorities and zoo officials said Monday.

Karen Aerts, 37, of Antwerp, was found dead in the cage, Olmense Zoo spokesman Jan Libot said. Police said they ruled out any foul play.

Authorities believe Aerts, a regular visitor to the zoo, hid in the park late Sunday until it closed and managed to find the keys to the cheetah cage.

"Karen loved animals. Unfortunately the cheetahs betrayed her trust," Libot said.
--Associated Press

I can't imagine I am the only one to consider that last sentence absurd in the extreme. These are people charged with managing animals? Wild cheetahs aren't cuddly kittens to someone who "loves animals"...so they are traitors?

Let's be honest, people. Human evolution has been well served by this idiot's death. She could have produced offspring and passed along her towering stupidity. Let's just hope she didn't breed before she died.

And let's hope the inane zoo-spokesman, Jan Libot, goes back to flipping burgers where he belongs.

Thomas Sowell on "Greed"

Mr. Sowell is brilliant as always.

Today there are adults -- including educated adults -- who explain multimillion-dollar corporate executives' salaries as being due to "greed."

Think about it: I could become so greedy that I wanted a fortune twice the size of Bill Gates' -- but this greed would not increase my income by one cent.

Read it all by clicking this post's title. Then go to Sowell's archive and read everything. It'll will actually enlarge your brain and raise your IQ.

Food Nazis

Just leave my food the fuck alone.

LEAVE MY FOOD THE FUCK ALONE!

I don't need a nanny, I don't want a mommy. I am a grown-up. Go away.

Imprison the Border Patrol!

Is Duncan Hunter nuts? Imprison the drug running illegal aliens and reward the Border Patrol?

We can't do that! That'd be discriminating against drug smugglers. After all, shooting and wounding illegal alien, border jumping, drug smugglers who bring their filth, sickness and violence into the United States is JUST the same as criminals shooting law enforcement officers and innocent people for fun and profit.

Ask the American Courts. They'll tell you. Those bastards belong in jail. How DARE they try to actually defend the Borders...I mean, we were just KIDDING when we called them BORDER PATROL AGENTS and gave them guns and badges, and made them take an oath to defend and protect, blah, blah, blah. We didn't really want them to actually patrol the border, for heaven's sakes.

We just want them to be on the payroll, so we can tell the suckers...er...citizens, "Look! We're serious about controlling the border. Look at all the Border Patrol Agents we have."

Maybe we should just take their guns away altogether. Give them slingshots like the Tijuana police. That way, if anyone gets shot, it'll be them and not the innocent dope smugglers with automatic weapons and goon squads that are just coming across the border to find a better life and support their families.

First Kill all the Lawyers

I just heard a radio ad encouraging listeners to create an "LLC" in order to protect personal assets in case of a lawsuit...which are on the rise! They warned us not to wait, in this litigious society until it's too late!

Of course it was a law firm's ad.

Who do you suppose is responsible for creating this dangerously litigious society?

Jesus, they're The Mob. Manufacturing the danger, and then making you pay them for protection against it.

And it's all "legal".

Shakespeare was right.

Abortions and Guns

I've said it before, but it bears repeating every now and again, until we get it right, that Anti-Gunners and Anti-Abortionists are two sides of the same coin.

There is no doubt that they are almost always on opposite sides of the two issues, and there is no dobut whatever that each side seeks to completely outlaw the other.

As a result the two issues are perennial dividers of huge groups of people whose time would be better spent on different issues.

Here's my proposal:

Whereas the Anti-Gunners hate guns because they believe they kill too many people, and support abortion on demand without restriction, and

Whereas the Anti-Abortionists hate abortions because they believe they kill too many people, and support unfettered gun ownership without restriction,

Let's compromise.

Gunners are prepared, indeed have accepted, reasonable restrictions on firearms, whereas Abortionists refuse to consider any restriction whatsoever.

I suggest that Abortionists accept reasonable restrictions on abortions, upon the guarantee of the anti-abortionists, that they will will cease and desist from seeking to further restrict or outlaw abortions.

I suggest that Gunners continue to accept reasonable restrictions* on firearms, upon the guarantee of the anti-gunners, that they will cease and desist from seeking to further restrict or outlaw guns.

Perhaps we can put these two divisive issues behind us and move on.

[I think it is fair and necessary to point out that everytime a firearm is used, death does NOT result, but that every time an abortion is performed, death does. It would be wise for the Abortionists to remember that as they rail against the "dangers" of guns.]

Gunners must allow abortions to be as freely available as they wish firearms to be. And Abortionists must allow firearms to be as freely available as they wish abortions to be.
