The RULES

The Rules:

1) If it advances individual liberty, it's good.
2) If it advances the size/power of government, it's bad.

Simple really.

Any political issue, no matter how purportedly "complex", or arcane, can be decided correctly using this simple standard.

Man is meant to be free.
The STATE is the enemy.

  1. You just summed up half of my lesson plans for my 8th graders in US History 1763-1877. I want none of them to be slaves.

  3. But that is not necessarily a conservative view point. That sounds much more libertarian. Which is fine if that's what you're going for.

If you apply your two rules plainly; abortion, marijuana, polygamy, and gay marriage should all be legal. And if you give legal status to fetuses, then at least the last three apply.

  4. Will...agreed.

But the problem today and the looming threat is too much government.

This is a quick and dirty guideline for cutting through the political rhetorical bullshit.

Elsewhere I've made the point that a "virtuous" people are required for self-government.

People don't want individual liberty. And when they get it, they don't use it. People want routine and comfort - they want to be hypnotized by daytime-TV and keep a neat lawn, that's all. You can take away the fences keeping them in, but domesticated sheep still won't go anywhere.

  6. If nobody is feeding them hungerhas a way of motivating a person to action in their own interests.

That's why socialism is the cancer of civil society...and free-market is the engine of prosperity.

    1. Oh yeah! The FREE MARKET! Cut costs, make 'em in China! Bail out those poor f****** bankers!

    2. Actually, bailing out bankers is the opposite of the FREE MARKET.

And cutting costs makes products cheaper for consumers. When unions and governments make it impossible for businesses to operate at a profit in America, exactly what choice do they have?

    3. Sorry, was the sarcasm too subtle? They could choose to support the nation that provided them the opportunities to that they enjoyed while getting to where they are. Maybe the could spend the billions in tax $ they got from the American people in ways that might actually benefit those same people, you know, the folks whose grand-chilren will be born & will die paying for those handouts?
How many of the working families' tax dollars did they use to hire lobbyists to get the whores in Congress to approve the largest WELFARE payments in our history? These scumbags lost their shareholders money by investing billions in short-term, high risk loans, then passed the losses on to our children. Hell, they don't even need to use cheap foreign labor. The can get their congressional sluts to provide substandard labor by failing to enforce immigration laws & ignoring the illegal invasion of third world peasants into what was once a sovereign nation. It's cheaper than having slaves. Slaves represent a huge capital investment that must be protected. They need to be housed, fed, & "repaired" when needed, whether the are working or not. Illegals are expendable; if they need food, give them food stamps or or directions to the nearest charity food bank. If the are injured or sick, send them to the ER, & let the insurance companies pass the cost on to their customers. If they commit crimes, let the taxpayers foot the costs of arrest, trials. & incarceration. If they die, so what? there are a million more waiting for the sun to set on our borders. The biggest welfare parasites in America are in the boardrooms of banks & corperate skyscrapers.
The best use of tax dollars I can think of are the thosands of street lights in DC & on Wall street. All we need to bring is a few hundred miles of rope.
