Between the Lines

From the Patriot Post. Wednesday Chronicle - Vol. 09 No. 18

"Now, the process of selecting someone to replace Justice (David) Souter is among my most serious responsibilities as president, so I will seek somebody with a sharp and independent mind and a record of excellence and integrity. I will seek someone who understands that justice isn't about some abstract legal theory or footnote in a casebook; it is also about how our laws affect the daily realities of people's lives, whether they can make a living and care for their families, whether they feel safe in their homes and welcome in their own nation. I view that quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people's hopes and struggles, as an essential ingredient for arriving at just decisions and outcomes." --Barack Obama

This is so full of Progressive code, the head spins.

Let's break it down, shall we?

"...sharp and independent mind" - this means a professorial deconstructionist thinker who won't be bound by anything as hidebound as American Tradition of Individual Rights, or the Constitution.

"...a record of excellence and integrity"- I don't think we have to spend much time on this political blather, ZerO's record of choosing people of "excellence and integrity" speaks for itself.

"...understands that justice isn't about some abstract legal theory" - ...like the Constitution.

"...or footnote in a casebook" - we don't want anybody who might feel bound to consider the opinions of traditional legal opinions or thinkers that came before the great enlightening of my [ZerO's] election.

"...how our laws affect the daily realities of people's lives," - we want someone who approves of government micromanaging all the daily realities of people's lives.

"...whether they can make a living" - we want someone who approves of government control of the economy.

"...whether they feel safe in their homes" - we want someone who hates guns—in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

"...and welcome in their own nation." - we want someone who will give preference to alien minorities with alien cultural norms against natural born citizens and American norms.

"...I view that quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people's hopes and struggles, as an essential ingredient for arriving at just decisions and outcomes." - Fuck Western Civilization's principle of blind justice, concept of the rule of law, and every individual's equality before it.

And there you have ZerO's criteria for Supreme Court Justices—and his view of the proper "remaking" of our Justice System.

We survived FDR's attempt to stuff the court. We survived Wilson's jailing of political opponents. Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll survive Obama's full-bore onslaught against our Republic, its citizens, its traditions, its economy, its beliefs, its culture and its hope.
