Bad Choices

I hereby dejectedly announce that I have ditched the "Dump McCain Now" campaign.

I certainly don't endorse Grumpy Gramps. But I'm having a hard time continuing the fantasy that Hillary is a possibility for the Democrat nomination. I'm also concerned about the projected likelihood of an even bigger Democrat majority in Congress.

This, with any Democrat in the White House is simply, in a word, unthinkable.

The idea of a Hillary presidency with a strong, bitter, gun & God-clinging Congressional minority held some hope that little to nothing of her America crippling agenda would get accomplished.

An Obie Presidency could, with his seemingly Sarumanic ability to spellbind with his voice, spell wicked trouble for America—a chance I'm not willing to take.

Of course, the Dems may be hurtling down a steep slope to feel-good, emotionally satisfying, white-guilt assuaging, black-tribalism-confirming ass over teakettle shattering smash-up at the rocky canyon bottom...wherein 49 States go for Uncle Fester...and one for Obamassiah.

One can hope.

But given the bad craziness in politics these days, the corruption and lies, the media in bed with Obie, the ignorance of too many citizens, and their greed for handouts from the rest of us, the willing surrender of our cherished freedoms for a nice nurturing Nanny-Fascist-State ramping up to maniac proportions on a daily basis...anything could happen.

And I'm unwilling to risk it anymore.

Have I folded? Yep. The situation is too weird. Obie is too teflon and too strange; Big Media too bold and in the Obie-Bag; the unbeatable Clinton's are flaming out like vampires in sunlight. We've entered an alternate universe...one at risk of having Mrs. Obie as First Lady of a country she badmouths at every opportunity, who doesn't understand the difference between "want" and "greed"...who complains because she is so successful, and was given so much she didn't deserve, and didn't earn. A woman who hates America for making her unworthy ass rich and famous and powerful..and thus engendering her phantasmic nightmare of "fear" and "impossibility" which she then projects onto others. (Paging Dr. Phil!)

In other words, a woman who thinks in a "twilight zone" language that makes less sense than the Red Queen's, and whose conclusions, like those of String Theory, are completely imaginary, without a jot or tittle of material reality....who would be hen-pecking, bitch-slapping, nagging, managing and controlling the President of the United States of America.

This could keep me up at night. And I need my sleep. Yeah, I know I'm being manipulated even as I choose my only choice. And I really, really hate that. But I just don't see a reasonable alternative.

Vote McCain in this Brave New World

honk...spit...

Republican Carnival Fortune-Tellers

Another Wall Street Journal pundit playing with himself. His mano-erotic, titillating fancy is the lethal dissension in the Democratic Party, and it's ultimate descent into chaos.

Talk about projection! Ted, you should know better. Ok, at least you admit this whole thing is a fantasy, a projection of your fevered brain. But what is the point of it? Why is the WSJ printing it? Well, it is meant to appeal to the Republican Party faithful, to make them feel better; to help them forget their real troubles in the real world. It's like science fiction or ghost stories...perfect escapist literature.

But is this really what we should be talking about right now? "Wow, wouldn't it be cool if..."?

It reminds me of geeky, dateless, teenage boys in Mommy's basement wearing Star Trek gear, and discussing the relative merits of Klingons and Romulans. (Never mind how I know this.)

Except they're not so sweet, harmless or endearing.

These dullard Republican apparatchiks continue to reveal the level of their irrelevance—and their menace to their own party, by directing focus from real issues. I wonder how clearly I can say this?

"Living in the fantasy world that the Democrats are on the ropes, on the precipice, moments from imploding...while Democrat "Barry the Messiah" mania is sweeping the country—in order to avoid the reality that the Republicans have chosen a candidate so divisive that the entire conservative base is threatening to vote against him... is not helpful."

Fantasizing that the "Clinton Machine" will sue or otherwise attempt to steal the nomination, thereby cracking the Democratic Party in two...is delusional. Precisely as delusional as their pronouncements last year that "nothing can derail the Clinton juggernaut". And their pronouncements earlier this year that "the Clinton Attack Machine will chew the inexperienced Barack Obama up and spit him out if he even looks like he might be a threat".

Their record of correct predictions makes bunco-artist Sylvia Brown look like a real psychic!

Please, Republican Party Hack Pundits: SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Loyal to What?

We're already hearing strident voices insisting that Conservatives unite with other Republicans in support of John McCain. We are being scolded to remain loyal to the Party.

Uh...why should I remain loyal—in order to support John McCain—to a Party that he has made a career of defying, insulting and betraying?

Why in the world would the Republican Party nominate or support this man who apparently holds most Republicans and all Conservatives in contempt. And if the Republican Party insists on kissing the hand that beats it, why in the world should Conservatives be loyal to it?

Let me make this as clear as I can.
If the Republican Party insists on choosing a man who has demonstrated his contempt for Conservatives and their core values time and again, the Republican Party is demonstrating its contempt for Conservatives and their core values.
How dare they demand our loyalty! What possible reason do we have for supporting such a Party? For the abstract joy of getting a man with an "R" after his name—regardless of his actual policies—elected president? I'm unclear as to why that's to my advantage on any level? It's not good for my country. It's not good for business. It's not good for freedom. It's not good for prosperity. It's not good for faith. It's not good for national security. It's not good for social cohesion. In fact, it's not good for anything else decent and good that I can think of.

What, exactly, are we supposed to be loyal to? The Corporate Logo of the RNC?

Loyalty is reciprocal. And I'm really not feelin' it.
