Since this is being reported in the New York Times...I'm not sure of its veracity. (That's what we used to say about the National Inquirer...)

But at first blush it does feel good to read it.

Which is, of course, why I distrust it completely.

Imagining that these malignancies on society would spontaneously wither and die is too much to hope for. No doubt they are merely reorganizing and will appear under different names generously funded by George Soros.

But for the moment, it just sounds good to hear ACORN is BANKRUPT.

Of course, in the end the NYT report degenerates into a wall of excuses and finger-pointing at "right wingers". But still, it had it's moments.

It's no time to let up on the campaign to get ACORN permanently defunded, and publicly disgraced once and for all. Their defenders are coming out from under their rocks and debris piles to try to argue that they are Robin Hood.

Some defenders of ACORN are blind. Some are useful idiots.

They say ACORN means well despite the ongoing scandal related to an undercover video sting operation. In it, now-fired ACORN employees across America advised two young people pretending to be a pimp and a prostitute on how to set up an underage illegal alien sex slave ring.

ACORN backers say -- as they have always without fail said whenever ACORN faces an employee-related scandal -- that the workers were just a few bad apples and that ACORN is focused, as Democratic strategist Paul Begala says, on improving "the real lives of real people."

It now looks very much like there was a lot more truth to the criticisms about ACORN—the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now—than its leadership, its allies on Capitol Hill and its supporters in the media were willing to acknowledge.

But that won't stop the "Powers That Be" from trying to rehabilitate this sewer of corruption because as the man says, they are the "shock troops" (along with SEIU) of the Democrat Party.

We have to be vigilant, and not let this criminal enterprise retain its seat at the Democrat Party table, it's association and influence in government, its taxpayer funding, or any shred of legitimacy,

ACORN in State Government

An ACORN is a member of Pennsylvania legislature.

Babette Josephs, a Philadelphis Democrat (wow, surprise!) , is the chairman of the State Government Committee...the one in which the bill introduced to investigate ACORN is stalled.

Like American Spectator says: the Barbarians are Inside the Gate.

Congressional public antics notwithstanding, we have to make sure the Senate/House bills don't lose their teeth on Conference.

And we need to make sure our individual States don't continue to support this sickeningly corrupt organization...and all its little vampire siblings.

ACORN Picks "Independent" Panel of Inquiry

I don't think "independent" means what ACORN thinks it means.

Check out this hilarious nonsense.

Bertha says the panel will be independent and will do a really good job recommending what should be done to fix ACORN. The problem is Bertha, who is only a figurehead anyway, has been lying for so long she might not even know what’s true and what’s false. That happens when you lie a lot, so you should always tell the truth.

The panel is filled with hardcore leftists who don’t like America’s Constitution and free markets. They want America to be more like France where they eat cheese, or maybe a little like the old Soviet Union where they ate each other. They hate freedom and will do anything to stamp it out. They believe the ends justify the means.

Essentially, ACORN is hiring Lucifer to root out evil. Oh, and SEIU's Andrew Stern, who even gives Lucifer the creeps.

That should work.

Oh yes, Bertha Lewis, currently ACORN's top organizer is already making noises casting James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles as "racists" because they chose an organization that was mostly "black and brown" people, and chose the characters of pimp and whore, thinking that they'd be accepted by them, and bullied their way in.

75 Democrats Vote To Keep Funding ACORN

That's not the headline anyone else has, but I think it's the right one, don't you? I mean, cutting off funding for this criminal enterprise should be a given.

And yet...though the House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted to stop sending taxpayer's hard earned and confiscated money to these maggots, which is something one should be able to take for granted...

Breitbart has the story.

WASHINGTON(AP) - The House voted Thursday to deny all federal funds for ACORN in a GOP-led strike against the scandal-tainted community organizing group that comes just three days after the Senate took similar action. "ACORN has violated serious federal laws, and today the House voted to ensure that taxpayer dollars would no longer be used to fund this corrupt organization," said second-ranked House Republican Eric Cantor of Virginia.

...75 Democrats voted to continue sending ACORN—the organization whose employees in cities all around the country are caught on tape enabling a hooker and her pimp to break the law, evade paying taxes, and as incredible as it seems, smuggle and enslave 13 year old girls from Latin America, as prostitutes in the "house" the two are attempting to buy with ACORN's help and advice.

Schwarzenegger Wants ACORN Investigated

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has asked for an investigation of ACORN

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Raising the stakes involved in the scandal surrounding the anti-poverty[*] group ACORN, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is urging a "full investigation" by California Attorney General Jerry Brown into ACORN's California activities.

The governor sent a letter Wednesday to Brown, referring to "news stories regarding the ACORN organization that have concerned me greatly."

Let Arnold know that he's doing the right thing, and that you support him.

The ACORN scandal continues to unfold....getting worse and bigger by the day.

Yet, the Old Marxist Media are won't cover it*. They are either actually unaware of it, or are consciously choosing not to cover it—pretending they don't know about it. Do they imagine that if they claim ignorance of it and refuse to give it "credibility" by reporting it, that the story will go away? Are they so arrogant and foolish as to imagine they still occupy that sort of gatekeeper position in the New Media world?

I don't think they understand that the tide has turned and by professing ignorance of such a story still, after several days into it as it grows in effect and influence to the point of forcing Congress and the Census Bureau to act... they instead demean and belittle themselves, and convict themselves of bad judgment, corruption, shameless shilling for Obama, and finally complete irrelevance—and that it will be they, not the story that "goes away."

I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that we may be watching the last death rattle of what was formerly known as the Mainstream Media...both print and broadcast.

As Glenn Beck says, "the paradigm is changing", and I don't think these dinosaurs are aware of it. They're busy competing with each other, exclaiming over things the wretched Dowd says...shuffling and announcing new anchors - as though they're failing because they have the wrong "face" in front of the camera, dismissing anyone not of their own circle of self-anointed elites living in their East Coast Blue Bubble.

I think this story is the Old Marxist Media's Waterloo. And I think they're completely oblivious. They won't go off the air tomorrow. But I think history may mark this as the moment the Old Leftist Media turned the corner toward oblivion.

Just hours earlier his fellow Democrats in Nevada, Secretary of State Ross Miller and Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto dropped a bombshell. ACORN and two former senior ACORN employees in the state, they announced, had been charged with a total of 39 felony counts related to voter registrations.

Acorn is our incarnation of a key component of the “transition”. They are the Venezuelan equivalent of the Circulos Bolivarianos, “community organized” Chavez street enforcers. They are thugs that intimidate and terrorize their population for the regime.

In Cuba, they are called Comites para la defensa de la revolucion or CDRs. All socialist governments have some version of them. In Ecuador, Correa has them as does Morales in Bolivia. In Nicaragua they rely on the local community Sandinista organizations to terrorize their commmunity. Ditto in Argentina…see a pattern?

Community organizers institutionalize these thugs once they get into power in order to keep the dissenters terrorized and intimidated. Its arrogant to think it can’t happen here because it already has.
