Safety First?

I just watched a Toyota commercial on Fox News. Talking about all the safety features of the brand.

The tag line was:

"Because we know that nothing is more important to you than your safety."

Am I wrong? But I actually jumped off the couch, started screaming at the television...

"What? What? Are you crazy? My safety is not the most important thing to me!  You fucking assholes!"

Who the fuck says something like that. To adult. Americans!

Are you shitting me?

  1. At where I work,we were shown in a meeting a dvd on work safety which was "adult",considering we work with potentially-mangling machines at the plant.However...there is a poster in all the bathrooms (courtesy of Dojo) showing one how to wash one's hands (photos and "Sing 'Happy Birthday' twice to yourself as you lave your hands",etc.). Nanny State Culture,indeed...like,when there's a heat wave and the tv weathermen tell you all kinds of obvious bs. Present company excepted,of course, but MAYBE "they" are right, and we ARE a nation of idiots,in general. Easy explanation of how we've ended up with these third-string hacks in political power...Cato felt these feelings...aggravating to those with standards. But "that's an out-dated concept",they say...

  2. Scary part is I bet they don't say a word without running it past focus groups. I bet the sheep were happy with that.
