I mentioned that I went to the range the other day (and shot the crap out of a Zombie...)
One of the other things I did there was inquire about holding classes there for new shooters.
I was thinking that now that I have passed Directing of the political group to my successor, I'd like to do a little more in my "survivor/preparation/remnant" mode for those interested.
I was thinking I'd use one of the "slow" evenings at the range to bring in 3-5 interested people for a short course of regularly scheduled classes.
My old habit, before I interrupted it to get so intensely involved in political stuff was to go to the range every Wednesday right after work...where it was relatively quiet, and I could plan to meet with friends, and we could all expect to shoot without delay.
However, there were not even two contiguous lanes available last Wednesday...and the boys at the range told me that has become the norm....there ARE no "quiet nights" anymore!
No quiet nights at the gun range. No lull in the parade of people coming to sharpen their pistol skills.
"Something is happening here, but you don't know what it is, do you, Mr. Jones?"
So Mr. Everyday American may not be talking about resistance out loud. But a lot of Mr. Everyday Americans seem to be interested in making sure they can hit what they're shooting at.

In. The. San Francisco. Bay. Area.
Just the sort of tangible evidence of people preparing not to be sheep that is guaranteed to give me real hope!

No quiet nights is becoming the norm. Applications for concealed carry permits, and range time, are up 250% in my neck of the woods. Thank God for the woods, and people who own land "out in the woods". The times are changing. From people in the know, around here, gun sales are through the roof. Ammunition is becoming a commodity...and all the people I know want to practice on hitting their target. Boys, girls, it doesn't matter...they're buying handguns and are committed to the loading, shooting, cleaning, reloading of their new guns. They are committed to practice...I guess this is a good thing....Hell, they like it. Around here, Lady Smith .357's are popular with the ladies, so are all Glocks, but especially, the .45 single stacker, although some ladies feel it's too much banana. The recommended handgun, around here, is anything you can get ammunition for. Most people ,around here, consider the .9mm to be the bare minimum, but the ammunition is available, so .9mm sales are up.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, around here, people are taking the future serious.

ReplyDeleteNo longer quiet at my local range either Gunny. Found it much quieter if I just stay at work for practice. Not only am I saving in gas but I'm getting that much closer to that CEO position I've always coveted.
they are deluding themselves if they think they can last past the first day when TSHTF. by themselves, they will be picked off one by one and all their stuff split up among the victors. take some of them under your wing and make them into a group. your chances of making it thru the initial "civil unrest" period would dramatically increase. find a copy of isbn 1-4184-7207-7. they're cheap and good for beginners.
