I went to an interesting training group yesterday, put on by American Majority. Their website is .org, I think. And they reiterated something we've talked about before...that the real divide in politics these days is pretty much the Government vs The People.
Between Statists and Free Citizens:
1) Those who want government to leave them alone (Free Citizens)
2) Those who want government to do everything for them and control everybody else (Statist)
The Free Citizen wants the government to leave everybody alone to pursue his own life, fortune and happiness.
The Statist wants the government to take whatever is necessary from others in order to shower himself with benefits, goods and services.
And the bastards have the nerve to pretend their stance is the "moral" one.
It's clear they don't understand the concept that as citizens who give a limited amount of their power to a government so it can do those things individuals cannot do, we cannot transfer power we do not legitimately have...like pillaging others to benefit ourselves.
In other words, we cannot morally empower government to do those things it would be illegal for us to do on a personal, individual level.
I can't demand your money at gunpoint and give it to someone else I consider more worthy of it...without going to jail for robbery!
Since I don't morally or legally have the right to do it, I cannot grant that power to any government I form and empower..therefore the stealing of people's money at gunpoint by the government to give it to others the government deems more worthy of it...is immoral robbery in exactly the same way.
The government has no moral sanction to do any such thing!
We have moral responsibility to fund limited services of a legitimate government. We have no moral responsibility to allow it to plunder our lives and our fortunes for the benefit of others.
To the Statists I can only say. You may even "win". But it will be a short-lived victory. Because once you plunder and pillage all of us who produce rather than just consume wealth, you will be left without sustenance and fresh out of victims.
Vampires really shouldn't drain EVERYBODY all the while creating more vampires. It makes for hungry times down the line.

You hit the nail on the head, so to speak. People have the moral responsibility to take action when necessary...for their future, and the future of their offspring. For our immediate future. Our country is failing...Fact. We have so many domestic and international issues, it will be hard to determine which path to take. Not for me, but for most, I know which course I will steer. I hope there is some change. We need it in a bad way. Our country is imploding from within, with the ideas of the progressives, who have nothing more than a self-serving ideology. These progressives are wrong. There is much more to economic & public stability than the price of gold. I will say I believe that without international security, there can never be domestic security. Think about it. We're in deep doo doo, and if you don't believe that we are, you should watch some more American Idol. (not directed toward you, but anyone who reads this.) Get your priorities straight. The American people have become lazy. Want something for nothing? Want someone to take care of your problems? Do you believe the Government is responsible for solving your problems?

Do you believe the current government has your best interests, and the best interests of the American people at heart? Do you believe the American people are moving forward with regards to sociopolitical truth. How do you think your lives will change if the current politicians remain in power? Do you really trust the current leadership in this country? Time to make a change? Are we going to make the same mistake again?
