Alien Rule 2

If you have not read it yet, please read Alien Rule by Robert Weissberg (as linked in a previous post).

I did not think of it at the time, but it does occur to me that this feeling of alien-ness...one that I believe we all share and that Mr. Weissberg has so clearly articulated...may be the nexus of the persistent belief that Barack Ă˜bama is not a "natural born" citizen.

He doesn't "feel" like a citizen, but like a foreigner; and in addition to his paperless trail, his closed files, his secrets, his shrouded childhood, I think this leads the more literal minded of us to the conclusion that he is in fact a foreign born and raised usurper...

The so-called "Birthers" are a reflection—a projection—of the very strong and specific sense of alien-ness that Mr. Weissberg describes.

It seems to me the "Birthers" are dead right...metaphorically.

Whether they are right, literally, remains to be seen.

  1. Actually, I don't think his "paperless trail, his closed files, his secrets, his shrouded childhood" even matter that much to this feeling.

I think the "vibe" Weissberg describes is encapsulated best in a single quote from Obama himself, in response to a reporter asking him if he believed in American exceptionalism.

He said: "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism."

  2. Within the past year, I read someone who had the brilliant insight that Obama isn't so much America's first black president, as America's first 3rd-world president. Not birther stuff, that doesn't matter. Even if he was born in Hawaii, he was raised in other places - much of it in Indonesia. Didn't he call the Muslim call to evening prayers one of the most beautiful sounds in the world?

And his viewpoints are 3rd world viewpoints: the USA is the basis of all the evil in the world, our support for Israel the reason we are hated, our prior "transgressions" the reason the world is mad at us.

Add to that a generous dose of corruption; skimming the top off real estate deals (the Chicago olympics bid for Valeri Jarret), skimming the taxes on invisible gases (cap and trade and the Chicago Climate Exchange). Do I need to keep going on the corruption thing?

    Didn't think so.

BTW, completely understand and down with the moderation thing. A necessary step.

  3. Third World Evil. And we complacent Americans thought it could never happen here.

  4. Re: Moderation. It would be nice if I remembered to set the system to notify me when there's comments.

I forgot...it's been so long since I had to do this.

Sorry. I've got it sorted out now.

I really thought our little turd would give up sooner. It's amazing how persistent he was. It sort of makes you wonder what his life is like, no? Spending all that time fixating on a blog he hates? Think how terrible it would be to live in HIS head! Gags me just thinking about it.

  5. Owe Bow Mao may have been born in Hawaii, but being raised in Marxist shitholes and surrounded by Marxist elites was very influential. If any of those people having buyer's remorse had taken the time to watch any of the hundreds of videos on Youtube of the man, they would've seen his true colors. He never tried to hide anything. The media picked and chose what they would let their viewers see and read, but it was all out there. We voted for mediocrity and we got it.

As for the the moderation: I'm all for it. That POS has no job, no aspirations except to collect his next welfare check and no self respect. And he brings NOTHING to the debate except juvenile babbling. Living in mommy's basement is so safe. I could feel a little bit sorry for the POS because he doesn't have a life, but then that would mean feeling empathy for him and I don't have any time for that.
