Alien Rule 2

If you have not read it yet, please read Alien Rule by Robert Weissberg (as linked in a previous post).

I did not think of it at the time, but it does occur to me that this feeling of alien-ness...one that I believe we all share and that Mr. Weissberg has so clearly articulated...may be the nexus of the persistent belief that Barack Øbama is not a "natural born" citizen.

He doesn't "feel" like a citizen, but like a foreigner; and in addition to his paperless trail, his closed files, his secrets, his shrouded childhood, I think this leads the more literal minded of us to the conclusion that he is in fact a foreign born and raised usurper...

The so-called "Birthers" are a reflection—a projection—of the very strong and specific sense of alien-ness that Mr. Weissberg describes.

It seems to me the "Birthers" are dead right...metaphorically.

Whether they are right, literally, remains to be seen.

Robert Weissberg just gave a name to the unease, opposition, special dislike, inarticulate loathing most of us feel for this President and his posse.

And it makes perfect sense: ALIEN RULE.
