Old Guard

I like James Taranto. But he just doesn't get it.

He thinks we're still living in America...good old America...where truth and justice ARE the "American Way".

Not one in which a Hollywood Superman Movie deletes the last phrase of the motto...

Poor James still believes that the "media" has an important role to play in our "democracy". Well, I suppose he would, considering he's one of them, by hook or by crook.

In this piece, he describes the genius of Andrew Breitbart, while at the same time disparaging him because he doesn't do things according to the "rules" of "journalism"....

WTF?

So...savor the real story, inside the story...Brietbart's brilliance...and celebrate that he's on our side...and ignore Taranto's pathetic defense of the indefensible "mainstream" Media - even as he describes in detail their total malfeasance on the ACORN story (a single instance in a decades-long parade of misrepresentation).

The story reads like admiration and a little hero-worship of Brietbart...up until Taranto seems to come to his "politically correct" senses and realizes he can't SAY that...so he winds up attempting to diminish Breitbart, and trying to polish the stinking, sticky, soft, corrupt rotten apple of today's "journalism".

A classic of soft and squishy "conservatism". Lindsey Graham and John McCain would be proud
