Can Nullification Stave off Secession?

Bill Henry referred me to this article. You have to read it. The author describes "nullification", the last hope for preserving our freedoms, at least in some States, before we are forced to the extremity of actual secession.

The idea of breaking up the United States is less horrible to me than it used to be. I have reconsidered Lincoln's legacy and realize that there are worse things than leaving the rotting parts of the carcass in order to preserve the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, even if it is reduced in geographical size.

Size matters (ask any truthful woman), but quality is ALWAYS more important than quantity. And a small, free, educated, strong, brave Republic will always beat a big, sloppy, decadent, dependent, cowardly collective.

America proved it in the Revolutionary War, and Israel continues to prove it today.

I think we may be in for an even more eventful year than any of us have imagined.

God, I hate living in "interesting" times!

Just for the record, I agree with the many commenters that the Republicans are not blameless in this uber-mess. It is the STATE that is the enemy...no matter who runs it. The Federal (sic) government no longer believes in or acts within the confines of "federalism". And whether it is Democrats or Republicans wielding (brandishing?) federal power (nobody just "governs" anymore), they no longer bother to honor the Constitution's very clear limits on that power. The political class...the STATE...is the enemy. And while the Leftist Democrats are certainly the more vile, Republicans have been equally seduced by the trappings of personal power and wealth that reside in corrupt, aristocratic politics removed from The People they deign to "rule" rather than "serve", in spite of their condescending pretense of the latter.

Thanks, Bill. Great link!
