The New York Times is in pretty serious financial trouble. They're about to mortgage their headquarters for cash flow.

The Tribune Company (which owns the L.A. Times & Chicago Tribune among others) is also in trouble.

Miami Herald is also for sale..but there are no buyers.

They won, but it doesn't look much like victory. I wonder if they've ever heard the word Pyrrhic?
