It's not original to say that:
1) Atheistic Secularism (AS) is a "religion"
2) Extreme environmentalism (EE) is a "religion"
They are both based on faith rather than facts. Both have dogmas, required beliefs.
It just occurred to me, though, that AS and EE share most of the worst characteristics of Islam.
1) They are "true-believers" whose minds cannot be changed by logic, science or facts.
2) They believe it justified to lie to "unbelievers" to convert them.
3) They believe it justified to threaten "unbelievers" to convert them.
4) They believe it justified to ruin those whom they fail to convert.
5) They run madrassas that teach their dogmas by rote and brainwashing.
6) They are utterly intolerant of diverse points of view, and use violence or the threat of it to silence them.
7) They seek to establish a government and a judiciary that will force their view on everyone.
8) They operate from emotion (specifically hate) rather than reason.
9) They are taught and teach never to question (their religions') authority.
10) They seek a theocracy over all the world in which their high priests determine policy, and their religious police enforce it.
Whether it's the disinformation of Michael Moore and Al Gore; the terrorism of Earth First, et al; the hypocrisy of PETA; the fight by a tiny minority to strip the rights of the vast majority to display the Ten Commandments, or say "under God"; the virulent, fact-free propaganda by teachers of grammar school through post graduate programs; the aspersions cast at Conservatives and Republicans as earth/child/animal/poor-haters because they counter the AS and EE dogmas with facts and will not submit like sheep to their emotional hallucinations.
...they prove regularly that they are liars, fools or madmen, and cannot be trusted with the safety, security, spirituality, or future of America.
ASs and EEs are incipient mad tyrants, just like Moslems.
And in America, there are a lot more of them.
