Nothing is Impossible

Here's one you might want to read:

The Executive Order Controversy. You might want to consider whether a stylish tinfoil hat is appropriate. The author wonders himself while he offers a creepy scenario, that, given the current occupant of the White House cannot be entirely disregarded.

"Yes, it is far-fetched, but it is also distressingly possible. The sad fact in America today is that we have a president so disdainful of our foundational law and freedoms as to make the far-fetched seem queasily reasonable.

The timing of this executive order is jarring, even if the specific changes to the order are not. The power it conveys is staggering and cannot be safely entrusted to a single branch of government, much less to a single man. The Congress needs to reassert control over the exercise and implementation of the Defense Production Act before it can be utilized by a power-hungry cabal of leftists eager to fundamentally transform America. There is a door no one has locked, and our home is not secure. Close the door, lock it, and throw away that key."

Nothing is impossible anymore. Nothing is beyond the pale. Nothing is unthinkable.

Think it all. Prepare for the worst. Sad.

A 236-Year Run?

I know it's blogs like this where you find the apocalyptic conversations and predictions...and there are a lot of very nice people (some of them are my friends) who just don't think any of that is likely, feasible or probable. They believe America will somehow muddle through as it always has, and the cycle will continue back around, or the pendulum will swing back...or whatever metaphor is convenient.

But here's the deal:

When the Supreme Court takes on the Øbamacare forced-mandate-on-individual-citizens it will be the critical moment for America.

If the SCOTUS decides that the mandate is unconstitutional, we're cool. Øbamacare falls apart and we return to some semblance of normalcy.

But, if they decide that it is legal, WE ARE SCREWED. And the SCOTUS will have abandoned the Constitution, the Rule of Law, Freedom, The Founders, and the Idea of America.

And the United States of America will be over. Dead. Done. Kaput.

If the government can mandate that you must buy healthcare, simply because you are alive, it can force you to do anything it wants, using the same argument: (1) it is good for the collective or (2) it is good for the individual.

Once that power is claimed by the State, individuals will have no defense against it on any ground whatever.

Every one of our civil rights will have been stripped away in one fell swoop.

By that reasoning, religion, speech, gathering, due process, gun rights will all be subject to the determination of the State as to whether they are "good for the collective" or "good for the individual"... and will be permitted or forbidden as decided by the whim or preference of our masters.

Others will make more refined arguments using fine points of law, and will no doubt understand them far better than I do, but that will not alter the fact that once the State can force you to buy something just because it wants to...it can do whatever the hell it wants by using the exact same reasoning...and legal precedent will have been set for the end of liberty and the flowering of tyranny.

On that day SCOTUS decides this one case, America will survive or America will die.

Yeah, it's that important.

Holy Shit!

Here is a doozy from the Mailbag today. I have no idea of the veracity of it. And honestly I can't decide whether the idea is a ray of hope flashing through our dark national nightmare...or a horribly terrible idea that threatens the very fabric of our Republic.

Full Text Of Newsmax Column Suggesting Military Coup Against Obama

Here is the full text of John L. Perry’s column on Newsmax which suggests that a military coup to “resolve the Obama problem” is becoming more possible and is not “unrealistic.” Perry also writes that a coup, while not “ideal,” may be preferable to “Obama’s radical ideal” — and would “restore and defend the Constitution.”

Newsmax has since removed the column from its website.

Obama Risks a Domestic Military Intervention
By: John L. Perry

There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic.

America isn’t the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn’t mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes:

• Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”

• Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized.

• They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office.

• They can see that the economy — ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation — is financially reliant on foreign lender governments.

• They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home.

• They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America’s troop strength is allowed to sag.

• They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time.

• They can see the nation’s safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before.

So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?

Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam?

Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World?

What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?

Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?

Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog.

Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?

Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.

Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”

In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass.
I told you. "Whew!" twice.

Usually I have a comment. This time I'm speechless for the moment.

Perfectly Obvious, Simple Solution

There is such a simple answer to all our problems with the Federal Government. Every single issue we have with it an be solved with one single fix:

Obey the Constitution and restore Limited Government.

Every problem we have with the gummint, and everything that's wrong with it stems from the fact that it is too big, has too much power, and too much money.

Without the power, glory, status, cash, exorbitant salaries, special health care and instant pensions...venal people won't run for office. They'd leave in droves.

Without the fascistic control over industry and business...lobbyists couldn't BUY anything for their money. They'd leave in droves.

If you have a LIMITED government with little power, all the bureaucracies would have to close...as would most of  the alphabet agencies. All the apparatchiks would leave in droves.

There is no current outrage that would not be eliminated if we honored the Constitution and restored LIMITED GOVERNMENT as originally established.

It's so simple.

Not easy....but really, really simple.

As always, it's the PRINCIPLE that solves the problem. The rest is just details.

Clunkers Boondoggle

Apparently "Cash for Clunkers" is running into a little difficulty.

I have a couple of questions:

What about people who need/want to buy used cars? What about people who need parts? Entire working cars are being crushed. And they're not even salvaging parts like a filthy profiteering wrecker would do.

Will there be any of either left when these dunces are finished? Is this how they're going to get people into public transportation? You know, like that other government success story....AMTRAK?

And these people want to run our Health Care.

Liberty Gallows

Is this stealing? And if it's stealing form the Country, is it Treason? And if it's treason, isn't the penalty death? And if the penalty is death, let's HANG them all!

From the Wall Street Journal

WASHINGTON -- Spending by lawmakers on taxpayer-financed trips abroad has risen sharply in recent years, a Wall Street Journal analysis of travel records shows, involving everything from war-zone visits to trips to exotic spots such as the Galápagos Islands.

The spending on overseas travel is up almost tenfold since 1995, and has nearly tripled since 2001, according to the Journal analysis of 60,000 travel records. Hundreds of lawmakers traveled overseas in 2008 at a cost of about $13 million. That's a 50% jump since Democrats took control of Congress two years ago.

While we are in the worst economic situation since the Great Depression; while millions of taxpayers are losing their jobs; while lawmakers are spending us and our great grandchildren into oblivion & serfdom; while California is handing out IOUs; while Congress has passed the biggest TAX bill in the history of the World: Cap & Trade...

...these felons, these members of the Imperial State, are spending our money like its water, on themselves, their wives and kids.

While your wife and kids are tightening their belts, doing without, making sacrifices, these vipers are living it up in Paris, Jamaica, the Virgin Islands, and Australia...from their UNLIMITED ACCOUNT...of YOUR MONEY...that they conveniently set up for themselves 30 years ago.

And some of the shits that set it up then, are still in Congress, still spending your money for $450 a night hotels, while you're hoping to be able to afford the gas to make it across the state in your RV.

If we don't find a peaceful way soon to stop these swamp-dwellers—it's going to turn ugly. This infuriates me so much I'm about ready to grab an axe handle and take over the capitol.

These "Imperial Politicians" must be brought to heel, or we will not survive. At least, not as America.

WWJD? (What would Jefferson do?)

I think he would refresh the Tree of Liberty with the blood of some goddamn tyrants!
