There's been a lot of discussion about the REAL effect of the hideous Omnibus Bill that just got passed by Congress.
Among the howls of "betrayed", " how could he sign it??", and "Republicans are traitors to their supporters!"...
...there have been some quiet voices who are explaining what is really going on.
I hope they are right. Because it further exemplifies the glorious cleverness and tactical genius of our beloved Prez.
Here's a piece explaining the general idea:
Omnibus Bill is not a BUDGET; Potus wins again!
A sort of supporting article, written by (of all sites!) POLITICO, last year, helps further explain and give credence to this idea.
Today's early morning Tweet by Prez, seems to encourage this concept. While this bill purposefully and precisely rejects the building of the exact wall the president wants and promised ...it seems Prez, has a workaround already planned!
Maybe that's why he was so interested in the MILITARY spending in his comments, and in his tweet this morning...
Boy, I hope like hell this is true. He will wipe that smug smile right off Chucky Schumer's face. (And I'd pay a lot to see that!)
There is a lot of intelligently speculative conversation about this on Reddit right now:

I hang out there a lot. Very patriotic, hip, funny, smart people inhabit the space!

The Republicans have a majority in the House, in the Senate and have the Presidency. There is absolutely no reason to play games, unless of course, the game is on us.
ReplyDeleteI'd agree except that too many of those "Republicans" aren't really. They only profess our principles to get elected, but not to govern by. Also, given that the left has every social/cultural institution firmly in their corner, sometimes a little sleight of hand is in order. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you as well but we won't change anything unless those "Republicans" are exposed and deposed and this is an election year. Primaries coming up and the election will be here before you know it. What do we do now? Wait until 2020 and replay this all over again? Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you have a great retirement and best of luck on finding a place where you will be happy. I found mine (cept for the rat Doug Jones).
Yes. We really need to clear out that bloated, corrupt swamp. This is just the start. I hope Prez (with our support) can get it done...or at least take a big bite out of it. It's a disgrace that our government is this intolerably corrupt.
ReplyDeleteAnd the size...and the debt...the Founders are spinning! and Cursing!
And thanks, by the way for the good wishes. I'm so glad you found your spot. Still unsure of mine. But I've got several months to go, and, of course, don't have to move the moment I retire. So I'll take it slow and try to make sure I find the right place.
