Journalism School?

On the way back from lunch this afternoon, I heard Hugh Hewitt interviewing a political reporter who has written a book. (I didn't catch the guy's name). In order to place this person correctly on the political spectrum, Hewitt asked who he voted for in the last presidential election.

This man claims to never have voted...and believes that to be "objective" in his reporting, it is important that he never prefer one candidate over another.

Sigh...

What is it about today's "journalists" that they do not know the difference between "objective" and "neutral"?

Is it an abysmal ignorance of their mother tongue? Or is the distinction too subtle for this class of person to grasp?

Or is it JOURNALISM SCHOOL?
