Soviet Hero

Well, we've finally done it: We've become stupider than France.

If this isn't an eye opener, I don't know what is. When France's fiscal policies make more sense than America's we're closing in on the Apocalypse.

Note the "Opposition's" entirely upside down, brutally false characterization of "Obama-Style" stimulus as one that puts money into the pockets of working people.

[BLOOD. SHOOTING. OUT. OF. MY. EYES.]

I'm guessing the "Opposition" are Soviets.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Will Zero Betray Israel?

This is what I was talking about when I said we need to "kill them all". Fighting like this is killing the Israelis...and it is not even garnering them the respect and admiration they deserve for being so decent and humane. I'm tempted to ask, "what the hell's the point?"

Yes, I know it's not all about public image. There is a thing called Morality, and God, and Right, Good and Justice.

But there is also a thing called survival, and that this corrupt world as sets its face against this tiny country, makes love to barbarians, and then postures condescendingly as moralists, is surely an insult to all good and Godly things.

Israel needs a real Dark Knight. And in spite of his skin color, Zero ain't it.

Santa Klaus - The New Saint of Europe?

I'm not sure what this means, because I'm so ignorant of EU politics, but it's very interesting. Apparently "cowboys" come from the former Eastern Block, too. Good on them, I say!

He's just rattling the shit out of the old world elite, which by itself makes me like him. I guess in Europe, the Czech Republic is "fly-over" country. We dare not call it a Red State...you know, considering.

And old Klaus seems to be hyper-opposed to the idea of a huge, powerful central government, which makes me like him a lot. I mean, he ought to know, right?

Pathetic Puerile Press

In a screed about how the World wants Obama... Jonathan Freedland of the Guardian wrote the following:
"McCain wants to bypass the United Nations in favour of a US-friendly League of Democracies. McCain might talk a good game on climate change, but a repeated floor chant at the Republican convention was "Drill, baby, drill!", as if the solution to global warming were not a radical rethink of the US's entire energy system but more offshore oil rigs."
Apparently he believes these are bad things.

God, what I wouldn't give to get us the hell out of that Stinking Swamp, the U.N., and form an organization of countries that actually have peace, prosperity and cooperation as, you know, real goals.

Freedland thinks the idea of a League of Democracies is a bad idea. So do Democrats, Marxists...(oh sorry, I repeat myself) and other fans of totalitarianism. They think it makes perfect sense to have Syria as head of the Human Rights Commission. And honestly, who could possibly see anything wrong with that?

He might as well just say..."We the World don't want McCain for president of the United States. He has character, brains, tells the truth, loves America, and wants to reform Washington."

Good God, we can't have that!

Kill the Mexican Bastard

I'm having a little trouble with this headline...never mind the actual story.

Here's the header: "Mexican set for US execution in defiance of Intl Court of Justice"

"In defiance"??

In order to be "in defiance", there has to be some relationship, some previously established understanding that "obedience" is expected or agreed to.

If I'm walking down the street and some drunken bum screams at me to stop...and I continue walking, am I "in defiance" of him...or am I just ignoring some asshole who's sticking his busy-body, big fat nose into into something that's none of his business?

The so-called International Court of Justice has no jurisdiction over Texas executions, and should just shut their fuckin' cake holes.

Maybe they should shut up and pay attention....if they did a little executin' Texas style, maybe Europe wouldn't be rushing down the drain into an Islamic sewer.

Getting back to the point...Mr. Jose Ernesto Medellin should have been ghosted in 1994. Let's raise a pinata, rustle up some burritos and hoist the tequila to celebrate this asshole's demise.

I Hope She's Right

According the Ann Coulter, American Liberals/Media are the last holdout of Anti-Americanism in the civilized "World Community".

Canada, France, Germany, Australia all have elected Conservative leaders in direct contradiction to the American Liberals/Media's hopeful, self-righteous predictions.

Could things actually be looking up? Heaven forfend.

The EU

Being a provincial American, I admit to not paying much attention to what's going on in Europe with regard to their specific political systems, politicians, and internal affairs.

So, this commentary about the effects of the European Union was very disturbing. I hate the very idea of it. I have no horse in the race, but I want Italy to be Italian....and England to be English. I'm horrified by the idea of an amorphous socialist dusky gloaming grey sameness throughout the continent!

And if this writer's facts are even close to true, the limitations on personal liberty, by unelected commisars is frightening indeed. His conclusion is that it can only end in war. And given the history of Europe and the natural national pride of human beings, I fear he might be right.

Submitting to this universal bureaucratic leveling blandness is, in effect, surrendering liberty. It really cannot be tolerated.

And WAR is always preferable to slavery.

Cold War II

Another fine article by James Lewis, which has a slightly different take on the sea change in Europe than Mr. Steyn. At least the tone is more hopeful. And we can always use a little hope!
