Harfing:  Refusing to acknowledge the ludicrously obvious because you are so committed to an ideology.

Of course, in all fairness, Harf is probably looking at the lack of jobs during the Great Depression as the reason the Catholics, Baptists, and Methodists, etc. went on the great spree of beheadings, and burning others alive during the thirties. Oh wait.....
