"Parting Company"

No less a light than Walter Williams sees things my way...

"For decades, it has been obvious that there are irreconcilable differences between Americans who want to control the lives of others and those who wish to be left alone. Which is the more peaceful solution: Americans using the brute force of government to beat liberty-minded people into submission or simply parting company?"

I contend, as he does, that those that want to control others WILL NEVER STOP—have no intention of changing their ways—and those of use that just want to be left alone have a right to be quit of them.

I submit that peaceful secession is the obvious, humanitarian, kind, non-violent manner to solve our otherwise impossible problem.

Regarding the Civil War, the issue of slavery was SO BIG that it overshadowed the other critical issues and freedoms and liberties that the Confederacy represented, and that were submerged to be forever forgotten as issues causing their secession.

Except for slavery...the Confederacy was right.

I'm a fan.
