Seems some people are just uncoordinated and fall hard.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - A U.S. Marine reservist collecting toys for children was stabbed when he helped stop a suspected shoplifter in eastern Georgia.
Best Buy sales manager Orvin Smith told The Augusta Chronicle that man was seen on surveillance cameras Friday putting a laptop under his jacket at the Augusta store.
When confronted, the man became irate, knocked down an employee, pulled a knife and ran toward the door.
Outside were four Marines collecting toys for the service branch's "Toys For Tots" program.
Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of them, Cpl. Phillip Duggan, in the back. The cut did not appear to be severe.
The suspect, whose name was not released, was held until police arrived. The Richmond County Sheriff's office said it is investigating.
The suspect was transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken leg, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions and assorted lacerations including a broken nose and jaw.... Injuries he sustained when he fell trying to run after stabbing the Marine.

Ha ha. I love this story also. It would be hard to confirm because the communist dupes in the media would not be permitted to air this because it might give people a reason to respect the Military.
ReplyDeleteThe accounting from Military.com. does not include information on the suspect's injuries.
ReplyDeleteAnd here is the actual AP copy as it ran on Yahoo, which is different than the copy denoted here and also does not mention the suspect's injuries.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time, when I was just a wee squidlet on my second time through NAS Memphis for Special High Intensity Training (AVI-C7), we had a couple of dirtbags who killed a couple of Marines. The Marine LT was at the police station when they brought said scumbags in. He asked if he could have them after the trail, he was going to put them on the top floor of the Marine barracks and tell all the Marines why they were there with the deal if they made it out of the building alive they could go free.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the courts said they couldn't do that, seeing how it might be construed as cruel and unusual punishment and all...
