From the Mailbag

My cats sleep about 20 hours a day. They have their food prepared for them. Their meals are provided at no cost to them.

They visit the doctor once a year for their checkups, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this they pay nothing, and nothing is required of them.

They live in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than they need, but they are not required to do any upkeep. If they make a mess, someone else cleans it up. They have their choice of comfy, warm, clean places to sleep. They receive these accommodations absolutely free.

They live like little princelings, and have absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of their
costs are picked up by me—who works for a living.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head,

"Holy Shit, my cats are Democrats!"

  1. My cats are barn cats. Once in a while a stray Tom shows up, screws all the other cats and steals their food. Now, that's a Democrat!

  2. Ha Ha! I've never called "Butters" a Democrat, but point taken. She does give me more amusement, tho. And yes,I'm owned by her.Last week I went batshit buying up cat food and litter from the local Food Lion grocery store that was closing down (60% off!).She's better-stocked than myself... Tho she still needs little ol' me to open the cans and bags

  3. At least a cat will occasionally show a little appreciation, even though they are evil little soul suckers.

  4. My four are affectionate to the point of smothering. I sort of envy those people who complain about their "aloof" cats. I've never had one — and I've had a lot.

There must ALWAYS be physical contact!
