Didn't take them long.
Meet Mark Lloyd, the new Marxist/Fascist Hitman at the FCC. Remember the name.
Just wait to see what he has planned:
Here's more from Protein Wisdom. While he said he was not interested in reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, he called for "equal opportunity employment practices," "local engagement" and "license challenges" to rectify the that perceived imbalance. "Nothing in there about the Fairness Doctrine," he wrote.
"The other part of our proposal that gets the 'dittoheads' upset is our suggestion that the commercial radio station owners either play by the rules or pay. In other words, if they don't want to be subject to local criticism of how they are meeting their license obligations, they should pay to support public broadcasters who will operate on behalf of the local community."
In February, a report in the American Spectator said aides to Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., met with FCC staff to discuss ways to re-enact Fairness Doctrine policies and to apply them to the Internet as well. Both the FCC and Waxman's office denied the report.
White House spokesman Ben LaBolt said at the time that President Obama opposed any move to bring back the policy. He reiterated that position to FOXNews.com on Monday.
While Obama continues to oppose the Fairness Doctrine publicly, Lloyd's appointment has some critics worried. Motley said the not-so-subtle move is "frightening."
"You read his essay and he's incessantly attacked Rush Limbaugh," Motley said. "He doesn't like conservative talk -- and now he's an official at the weapon to shut down conservative talk radio."
According to Glenn Beck Friday, and Right Pundits also reports it:
Lloyd has said that private broadcasters (private business) should pay a licensing fees which equals their total operating costs [annually!] so that public broadcasting station can spend the same on their operations as the private companies do.Please....just chew on that turd for a minute. And see if it doesn't get your rage machine crankin'. It occurs to me that if they try this, the current townhall meetings will seem like kindergarten playtime.
I've never seen anything like it. These people are clearly and sincerely breathtakingly evil.

Lloyd's attitude is nothing we didn't already know about. The only issue is if he is moving forward with his agenda right now. Maybe I missed it in the blog. Is he advancining his agenda?
ReplyDeleteThe way I look at it is that Talk Radio and the Internet blogs are the last outlet that the American people have to vent with and make their voices heard. A safety valve if you will. When the safety valve no longer operates the pressure cooker explodes. This could get ugly.
Is everyone ready?
A. Nonny Mouse
The fact that Rush has a larger audience than liberal talk shows proves that there is inequality that needs to be addressed. If everything was equal, then the outcome would be equal.
ReplyDeleteDon't boring, annoying people with no common sense deserve an equal share of the talk show market? This is America!
I won't be silent and I know you won't either Gunslinger. The only way to shut me up is to somehow bar me from posting, kill me or throw my ass in jail.
ReplyDeleteAnd they ain't got anybody big enough to throw this old hoss jail.
Mouse, that's why I worry. They know not what they do. They really REALLY don't understand Americans. It's like they were born on another planet.
ReplyDeleteAW....I love they way they talk about "The People" as though the millions who listen to Talk Radio and make it a billion dollar business aren't "The People". What the fuck do they think ratings are?
Six...Amen brother...kicking, screaming and shooting.
Ratings and the "people" are immaterial. We are all in this together and if Rush would just share his toys then everybody could play. If you insist on not being part of the group then you can just go sit in the corner. Reminds me of Kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteAnd when they try to shut a venue down, what happens? Another one opens up. Remember pirate radio? The black market? I had an interesting conversation the other day with someone ticking off liberal points; the capitalists and their free market did this to us, blah, blah, blah.... I said, we've not had a truly free market so how can you say that? There are government restrictions and requirements and strings attached to our market. But, the black market is booming and what is it other than a truly free market? Talk about the deer in the headlights stare. lol!
