Last Chance at the House!

Heritage Foundation on the Cap & Tax bill.

Later today, the House of Representatives is slated to vote on the most convoluted attempt at economic central-planning this nation has ever attempted: cap and trade. The 1,200-plus page Waxman-Markey climate change legislation is nothing more than an energy tax in disguise that by 2035 will raise:

  • Gasoline prices by 58 percent
  • Natural gas prices by 55 percent
  • Home heating oil by 56 percent
  • Worst of all, electricity prices by 90 percent

I don't think they've voted yet. You may still have time to contact your representative!

Next stop...Senators.

Even if the idiots in the House approve this monstrosity, we must not allow it to be passed in the Senate.

"Hope" is all we have left...and perhaps miracles. Common Sense and Good Government are obviously not in the offing.

  1. As I write, they're getting ready to vote (Pelosi saying "Four words about this Bill...Jobs,jobs,jobs,jobs!" Yech! When I called "my" representative to ask how he's voting on the "Waxman/blah blah cap & trade,or is it the Cork & Screw Bill?", the office minion said "you mean the American Clean Energy Bill?" I almost lost it.These jerks label every criminal act they perpetrate against the citizens by some inane, benign title like the French Revolutionists, with their "Committee For Public Safety"...same ol' tactics.May God damn them...not to Hell, but Here and Now.I also remembered that "my" representative likes trips to China,so maybe he's been BRIBED to to this by those interests he REALLY represents.A question begging to be asked of other "Congressmen"..."Are you voting this way to help your Chinese buddies?"...Traitors!

  2. Glenn Beck worries that if the revolution happens while we're all this pissed, it'll be the French Revolution, not the American one.

I generally agree with him, but I'll tell you what, I'm sort of liking the idea of a guillotine being set up right outside the Capitol.

    You know, for convenience.

  3. Judging the highly intellectual qualities of the legislation the current administration is sponsoring, I expect they will soon outlaw slaughterhouses and force everyone to get their meat only from supermarkets.
