I'm watching the Fox Report with Shep Smith. They're doing a story on Piracy.
They show a video of pirates attacking another American ship...(attacked after the dramatic rescue of Captain Phillips by SEALS)
The American crew took the video, and it shows these tiny little boats bobbing around this huge American ship...shooting at it. Shooting at a steal monster that makes their stupid little lifeboats look like Matchbox boats.
And these scum are considered dangerous—because even though they are attacking leviathan...leviathan is unarmed, undefended, bare, naked; a soft target. And it can't travel faster than a speeding bullet.
And then Shep reports that Congressional Hearings are taking place to determine what to do to protect American ships and crews from Somali pirates who bob around their ships in tiny open boats—making them perfect targets—shooting at them.
I'm screaming at the television. I'm pulling my hair out. Hyperventilating. While I listen to the ponderous speechifying, and the apologetic suggestion that there may be a possible solution, but one that needs Congressional approval.
Blood is now shooting from my eyes as they do some further dithering, and allow themselves expressions that suggest they'd rather there was any other option. When they actually articulate the unthinkable: "ARM THE CREW", I pass right out.
Since this is just testimony, I suppose nothing so important—and so inherently dangerous, risky, extreme and controversial as arming Americans sailors who are being targeted and shot at by criminal foreign pirates can be decided without more pompous, pretentious, ponderous, self-righteous, moralizing discussion of the dangers involved in allowing American adults the tools to defend their lives in the face of direct gunfire—will be resolved immediately. They will, no doubt, take it under advisement.

Gads, I know the feeling. I had to quit watching the news, even on Fox. I was in serious danger of a stroke. Now, I get my news online, and feel MUCH better.
