Well, here's a real life example of a conspiracy between government officials and the EnviroStasi to create a new set of euphemisms...because the old set has been tainted by....reality!
The Strategy: Don't tell the truth...just tell the same lies with new words!
This is a perfect example of Progressivism in action. I guess this is what ZerO meant by "transparency". Words are so stripped of meaning...you can see right through them. The answer, Mr. Perkowitz said in his presentation at the briefing, is to reframe the issue using different language. “Energy efficiency” makes people think of shivering in the dark. Instead, it is more effective to speak of “saving money for a more prosperous future.” In fact, the group’s surveys and focus groups found, it is time to drop the term “the environment” and talk about “the air we breathe, the water our children drink.”
“Another key finding: remember to speak in TALKING POINTS aspirational language about shared American ideals, like freedom, prosperity, independence and self-sufficiency while avoiding jargon and details about policy, science, economics or technology,” said the e-mail account of the group’s study.
At first, I actually wrote here: "I give the New York Times credit for printing this." Because, frankly, I am shocked that they did. Their bias is so bad that I was momentarily tempted to praise them because, as a news organization, they told the truth. Holy Crap. That's how bad things are in the MSM.
