"The problems plaguing the Big Three U.S. automakers have been compounded by a “hostile” Democratic Party allied with union bosses and environmental extremists, according to an Op-Ed piece in the New York Post. But last summer, Casey ignored the testimony of economists, automakers and worker representatives and joined his Democratic colleagues in imposing $85 billion in new fuel mandates on the industry — hiking fuel-mileage standards by 40 percent.
Those mandates are a significant problem for the automakers due to their uncompetitive union labor costs — 30 percent higher than non-union workers in Japanese-operated American plants — which have made it unprofitable for the U.S. firms to make small cars."

I think we can agree that this is a large part of the problem. We don't hear much about it from the drooling liberal media, do we?
Unions. Democrat Party. Two major arms of Liberal Fascism.
Don't expect anything but more of the same with the Prince of Peace and his Congressional lackeys.
They are all chomping at the bit to pass the "card check" law, outlawing secret ballots for employees voting on joining a union.
When you can't vote "no" without being intimidated, threatened or worse, the Dems/Union/Envirostazi gangsters will have consolidated their control over business.....all business. And individual business owners, and individual workers will no longer have any control over the running of their businesses or the circumstances of their employment.
The STATE will, in effect, "own" them. The STATE will own—or at least control— the means of production. And that is bald fascism—and STATE tyranny. And the people, the citizens...reduced to serfdom.
It is happening right before our eyes. And unless we can stop it, our options for freedom grow fewer and fewer.
