Amazing. The Governor of Hawaii, a Republican, is being scrupulous about the press or anyone else getting unauthorized access to Barack Obama's birth certificate.
Can you imagine how quickly that information would have been leaked to the press if the candidate was a Republican and the Governor a Democrat?
That's not being cynical. That's just the plain unadulterated facts. And if any Democrat objects to the conclusion, they only have themselves to blame. You only get kicked in the head 30 or 40 times before you get the message.
We Republicans are slow that way.
Will Governor Lingle get any credit for her integrity? Will any Democrat apparatchik acknowledge that this Republican Governor has acted honorably—much more so than any Democrat functionary who had access to information inconvenient to a Republican?
Like the ones that used government files to investigate Joe the Plumber?
FUCK NO! What are you, some kind of an idiot?

I don't know if I call that acting honorably. Arn't these public records and as such shouldn't the public have access to them in a reasonable time frame if requested?? Like during normal business hours???
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand, there is a specific list of people who are legally allowed to request that information. The press and one's political opponent are not among them.
ReplyDeleteIf true, while we might not like the results, the Gov is living up to her responsibility to follow the law—even when it's against the interests of her party.
Rare in a politician.
Nah,she's being a typical wimp/liberal Republican, just being a useful Idiot, like Charlie Brown always falling for Lucy snatching the ball away at the last second. How about doing what's right for the COUNTRY,not the letter of what has laughingly become known as "the Law"? Pretty measly comfort to know you followed "the rules",while the opponnent broke them all,and won by cheating...culture,freedom,and,yes,Lives are at stake.McCain Team has been too "nice",as it is...
ReplyDeleteWell...there is that.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't subscribe to the idea that if we "behave like them, we reduce ourselves to their level—and we become what we're fighting against".
Because too often it puts us in the position of bringing a knife to a gun fight. Which is just STUPID.
When survival and freedom are on the line, winning IS the only thing.
