Dazed and Confused

.
OK...I'm officially flabbergasted. The Los Angeles Times... "rebukes ABC for distorting Palin's remarks".

I thought I read it wrong. I admit to such disdain for the Drive-By media that the headline simply didn't scan at first. I thought there must have been a typo. Or that it was a Spoof.

But after seeing that pig fly past my window (wearing lipstick), I realized that against the expectation of anyone even remotely in touch with reality...the LA Times has actually come to the defense of a Conservative Republican Pro-Life Woman—to Set The Record Straight.

I'm sure this will cause a run on smelling salts. I myself got light-headed from the shock.

I'm not saying Armageddon is at hand, but I am keeping a little sharper lookout than usual for any further signs of the Apocalypse.

On the other hand, as much as I salute the Times for this exotic, rare treat, I can't help but wonder whether it's also the sign of the rats fleeing a sinking ship.

It's certainly not typical for the Mainstream Media to give up on their Chosen One, and treat the former opponent with respect, fairness or dignity. Their treatment of George Bush testifies to their highly developed skill in holding and acting on grudges.

I wonder if they're not experiencing a bit of regret at their embarrassing behavior while in the throes of wild infatuation, which always seem a little humiliating in hindsight, wondering how they could have been so smitten by someone who, without the soft glow of enchantment, seems so undeniably...unexceptional.

I suppose that's too much to hope for. But, hey, I'll take what I can get.

This is one of those unexpected surprises that bring a little sunshine into your day. Let's just smile and say, "Thanks".

  1. Might want to research the author for any kind of "philosophical consistency"..
Could be one of those rarities..

  2. Indeed. It wouldn't be nearly so impressive if it is their "token" Conservative...by which they mean slightly to the right of Marx.
