Democrats Deal with the Devil

James Edmund Pennington (he has got to be English), has written a brilliant and sad analysis in American Thinker about the double-bind the Democrat's are in because of their Pact with the Devil.

In a nutshell, they've accepted/encouraged the full-on, monolithic support of blacks, and as a result have made themselves beholden to them as a group for any possible electoral victory.

Given that, it is impossible for them to not nominate Obie, no matter how weak, unprepared or unelectable a candidate he might be. The Democrats are in the proverbial spot between a rock and a hard place.

Their system was set up to vet potential candidates, and it works pretty well during the primary season. Under normal circumstances, the two current contenders would be considered equally viable at this point. And the "elders", the super-delegates, would feel free, indeed, feel obliged to make a careful decision as to which they support based on their best judgment about who reflects the Democrat Party principles best, and perhaps more important: who is most likely to win.

But in this instance, all the judgment and analysis, and choosing for reasons beyond pure race have been superceded by the gargantuan issue that is RACE...in this "post-racial" world.

Pennington says:
"The answer is race, race and race. Barack Obama, who risibly claims to be America's post-racial candidate, will one day be viewed as the most overtly racial candidate in the history of American presidential politics."

If he's elected—God Forbid!—we'll have our first "Affirmative Action President". If he weren't black, he'd have been laughed out of the competition months ago. And, boy, that sure fills me with pride and confidence.

Well, at least he's not my Affirmative Action doctor.
