Omens of Calamity

It's a little hard to type this, as I'm laughing so hard. This is the Environmentalist "dreamworld" as implemented by government, their dream-nanny.

There is no failure so great, no expense so huge, no insanity so deep that the true-believers will be swayed from their appointed task of ruining everything sensible and good that crosses their path.

That even the art & science of architecture has been corrupted should come as no surprise, I suppose.

I can only laugh bitterly at all this because I have so few years left "in the system", I will escape the dire results of all this raving lunacy simply because of my age. My isolated retirement armed mountain bunker will protect me from these idiots long enough for me to die in peace...in a world I still recognize as my America.

We are living in the last days of the American Republic. We will prove a replay of the Roman Republic that degenerated into the Empire, ruled by tyrants and madmen until its final demise at the hands of barbarians within and without.

It makes me sad, of course, but our leaders seem determined to make it happen, and the people seem happy to let them, as long as they get their bread and circuses.

I suppose it is the eventual fate of every great nation.

Obama and his screaming worshipers chant "change", and they will get it in spades. I'm pretty sure the change that's coming is not exactly the change they want.

But perhaps I'm so out of touch with the "new" America, that I'm wrong. Maybe they really do want to live as a mindless, nameless, meaningless cogs in the leviathan machine, ruled by the few who determine what is best for the people; who dictate, regulate, direct and monitor every facet of their lives, every idea in their heads, every word they say.

Ayn Rand wrote about that place in Anthem.

She didn't seem to think it was really all that cool. And neither do I.

Perhaps she and I are just dinosaurs whose time is long past. And maybe human evolution has reached its apex...and there's nowhere to go but back down into the bog.

I pity the young ones. Eventually there will be another revolution, that's how the cycle works. But how many generations will live captive and enslaved before it happens?

Ok, that's enough. I'm really depressing myself...all over a fucking building.
