Well it looks like McCinderella is on his way to the Republican Candidacy. Too bad. I blame the press.
Without the constant drumbeat for McCain, without the constant attention on him when he was ebbing, without the media treating him like a contender even when he was a nobody, he would not have been able to turn this around.
Having your name on every news-readers lips for months and months...especially when your performance in no way merits it, is publicity you cannot buy. It is a pure gift from the media whose bias against real Republicans has been proven beyond any doubt. Getting McCain nominated as the Republican candidate, is almost as good as getting a Democrat nominated as the Republican candidate. The Media have been in love with McCain since the first time he insulted his own party, teamed with it's worst enemies, supported radical leftwing legislation, and labeled himself a "Maverick"...meant by him, and understood by the press as "undermining the traditional and conservative Republicans"
The only one that may be surprised when the claws come out, and his blood starts to flow from the barrage of deadly pen-jab attacks by the press the moment his Republican Candidacy is in the bag, may be John McCain.
I'll bet he thinks the media actually like him. His ego is too big to consider any other reason for their continuing support and attention. Just wait till they cast him as the Demonic Face of the Satanic Opposition to the Holy Church of Sainted Liberalism.
If you think his temper is bad now...I shudder to think. Hey, at least it'll be fun to watch.
