Death of the Grey Lady?

This week's kerfuffle over the New York Times' hit piece on McCain, which prompted even well-known democrats to express chagrin at the lack of journalistic standards, got me thinking.

I've never really believed that the Times was doomed, even though predictions of her impending demise have been reported for some time. It just didn't seem possible that such an American Institution, no matter how fallen to ruin, would ever actually pass away.

But...I used to think the same about Hillary Clinton.

Can hope be far behind?
