Can You Say "DUH!"

Gosh, imagine this. Ethanol is not such a good idea. I know, I know, it's hard to believe. After all, the Liberals promised it was going to save the world.

In fact, Liberals think it's such a good idea, they're taking corn out of the mouths of poor, starving people all over the world so they can shove it's oil down our throats!

Of course, it's true, Liberals love poor people, especially if they're starving. They're so useful as props.

So this is a win-win for the Left.

What is sad for them is that this goofy, made-up, Moonbat idea is being wrecked by another goofy, made-up, Moonbat idea: Global Warming.

But that's what happens when you abandon the actual facts of science for the creative flair of science-fiction and substitute emotion for intellect: Shit just doesn't fit together. Opinion masquerades as proof. Feelings dress up like Ideas. Truth becomes relative & temporary. "Reality" becomes smoke and mirrors, and eventually, stumbling around in the dark, you will run smack into yourself coming from the other direction.

Selah.

  1. You don't mention that when sugar cane is used to make ethanol, the output/input ratio is more like 8 to 1.

I assume you're a vegetarian and that you aren't "robbing the poor" of corn and grains used to feed your pork and other livestock at an energy/nutrition loss of as high as 7 to 1. Also remember that the corn and grain used for feed must be grown and then transported causing additional energy loss.

  2. I'm not makin' it up. Mexicans are screaming 'cause the price of tortillas are going through the roof.

It's actually causing the price of food to go up in poorer countries.

Like it or not, them's the facts.

    It's called supply and demand.

  4. My bad, I didn't look closely enough at the article. It's saddening to hear this research and I'll definitely be keeping a look out for more studies. I think we will see a solution to carbon pollution in the near future, and I'm still hopeful for microbiotic, switchgrass, and other non-corn sources of ethanol. You have to agree that it's new research and bears an amount of patience. Anyway, I hope we can agree that whatever the truth of global warming, less pollution and less dependence on foreign energy are admirable goals.

  5. If we could get off of Middle-Eastern oil, they couldn't fund terrorism. It is my fondest wish.

Someone I was talking to the other day said bio-diesel was the best thing. I don't know anything about it. But I gathered that it is too cheap and easy...and if somebody can't corner the market...it's not in their interests to pursue it.

    Damn their hides.

    Know anything about it??
