M-M-M-My Generation

PJ O'Rourke has written a scathing piece on the Baby Boom generation. Generation Vex. It's hilariously funny...as O'Rourke is wont to be. But the huge, honkin' nut of truth at the center of it is, well, vexing.

  1. So what's new? The "Greatest Generation" produced the "Worst Generation." Were they all that great?

  2. What's new is how funny PJ O'Rourke is. Well, now that you mention it...that isn't new either. He's always hilarious.

I actually don't call my parents' generation the Greatest Generation. That's a marketing term.

They did a great thing in battling facism, facism that wasn't directly threatening the United States at the time.

    That makes them heroes, dude.

The times overtook them, along with "White Guilt" and they didn't stand up to the threat inside America as strongly as they did to that outside.

But that's OUR job. Stand up and be counted...or pass away un-mourned.
