Islam or Socialism?

Sometimes I feel like a tennis ball.

Sometimes I honestly can't decide who's more dangerous, Muslims or Liberals.

The answer does seem obvious at first—public be-headings vs socialized medicine—but the more you think about it, the more the lines blur.

I just watched a great movie (a must-see!) called "The Lives of Others". It's major theme is a single man's rediscovery of his humanity (done brilliantly, and movingly). But the setting in which the story is told is Communist East Germany. And a depressing, oppressive setting it is.

The repressive, dehumanizing nature of Socialism is cosmetically better than the brutal, savage and murderous nature of Islam, but the net effect is the same: the crushing of the human spirit.

And the simple fact is, Sharia Law will never rule America. Terrorism is a dangerous threat. Let's be real, a dictatorship by some Mad Mullah is not within the realm of possibility here.

But a Socialist Dictatorship is distinctly possible. And our very possible next President, Hillary Clinton, is running as fast and as hard as she can toward that end.

Two of her recent proposals are merely ways to take money from those who worked for it, and give it to people who didn't—naturally, couched in terms of the "government" providing cash and services. And there are a lot of folks who think it's a great idea. Because they'll be the ones getting the money robbed from others.

And it will only get worse, as more and more people of that...ilk...and their political panderers begin to outnumber the productive among us. After all, to these people, it's the job of government—people who actually work for a living—to provide for them.

OK. Maybe when you're a poor, ignorant loser whom productive taxpayers have always supported; and being lazy, stupid and greedy, you might only be thinking about your own short term gain. (That's why losers are losers.) But how explain the "educated" Liberal elite's enthusiasm for this?

Maybe it's because American Liberals have always been governed by a government that is limited by law. It's grown to a preposterous, unhealthy and dangerous extent, certainly, but is still constrained at this point, more or less, by the Constitution.

Having been the beneficiaries of this relatively benevolent (not by nature, but by law) government, and being ignorant of history and human nature, they imagine that having a bigger, more powerful "benevolent" government will be even better.

Being morons, they don't understand that it is the very weakness, and the limitations on government that forces it to be benevolent. And that unconstrained, it will become the tyranny that all powerful governments, without exception, in all of human history, have become.

And they are begging for it. Working as hard as they can to remove every limitation to the growth of a centralized, all powerful government.

What they will get is the gray, nihilistic, soul-death twilight of East Germany, Cuba, North Korea. Welcome to the Brave New World.

They don't believe that power corrupts, or that an absolutely powerful government will be absolutely corrupt, though the evidence is glaring on every continent, in every age, among every race of man.

The Liberals may be, in the final analysis, more dangerous to America than followers of the Pernicious Prophet. If one of our cities is nuked, we will go to full scale war and eliminate the furry bastards. But the creeping menace of the soulless oppression of Socialism seems almost inevitable as more and more Americans want a government that is big enough to give them everything they want, blithely unaware that it will take everything they have that matters.
