The Real War - Propaganda

I was listening to Sean Hannity on the way home. For about a minute. I really like him, as a person, but I've always been bugged by his show. I finally figured out why.

1) He's so committed to his side of the argument, he'll make mountains out of molehills to prove a point against Liberals, even when it's silly or unimportant.

2)He makes the mistake of attacking every little minute issue, with a horde of minute facts and arguments, so that he reduces it to a discrete issue, and distracts from the over arching theme.

And the theme is: Liberals are self-promoting side-show barkers, snake oil salesmen who will say anything, promise anything in order to steal your money, property, the clothes off your back in order to enrich themselves and satisfy their ravening ambition.

The Demshits are better at this than we are. They make generalized, meaningless statements like, "Bush lied and people died." They don't waste time with facts and evidence. First, of course, because they don't have them. Second, because when they manufacture them, they get caught red-handed.

They have learned one thing from history; from one of their heroes: Repeat a lie often enough and people will believe you.

We have to understand the bigger picture, begin thinking in broad strokes. "Concepts"...instead of "facts". We need an advertising "campaign", instead of a laundry list of "issues" and "talking points". We can't afford to continue to get caught up in logic, actual thought, rules of evidence and debate...and lose the propaganda war.

Because, in spite of what everyone says, this is not a war of ideas...or culture...this is a war of PROPAGANDA. And we need to get way better at it than we are.

It doesn't matter if all our facts are double-checked and all our evidence properly handled by CSIs, if the lying smack talkers of the Left define the "dialogue", and win the debate with lies and threats and empty promises, and accusations and hysterics.

As we sit in our libraries, and research institutes coming up with logical, rational arguments, with footnotes and references, they are swarming the country spreading their broadstroke corruption. Man, we need to get in the game.

It's time we stopped using super fine sniper rifles that can hit a target a mile away with finesse and perfect accuracy and an unheard snap on the distant wind, and start blasting away with 00 Buckshot right in your face. Crude & smashing, peppering indiscriminately, so loud nothing else can be heard above it. A constant barrage, from all sides, of a single, coherent, uncomplicated, simple, crude, loud, sustained message:

"Democrat politicians are utterly corrupt and blindly ambitious. They don't care about this country, our people, our children or our future. They have no morals. Everything they do and say is in the service of two things: Their WILL TO POWER and their GOLD FEVER GREED.

And we won't even be lying.

If we're going to save our country, our lives and our future, we going to have to be effective; we're going to have to get serious, and take control of this battlefield.

And a simple, direct, uncomplicated message, coordinated among us, and repeated endlessly until it becomes conventional wisdom is the only way we're going to do it.

We have to kick in the teeth of the opposition...who have successfully bloodied our mouths for years while we follow Robert's Rules of Order.

Repeat after me:

"Democrat politicians are utterly corrupt and blindly ambitious. They don't care about this country, our people, our children or our future. They have no morals. Everything they do and say is in the service of two things: Their WILL TO POWER and their GOLD FEVER GREED.

Repeat, repeat, repeat again...

  1. Very astute observation about Mr. Hannity's show. I could never put my finger on it, but you've done it beautifully.

Sad to say that your further observations are just as astute... wars have always been won and lost by propaganda, and we are inundated with it now that communication is instantaneous and globally accessible in seconds.

Worse, like-minded individuals on ANY side of an argument or with any similar political viewpoints can seek ONLY the information that furthers their own view.

We are, as a Nation, information-savvy and critical-thinking-bereft.

Globally encompassing statements (i.e. "Bush lied and people died") can only be thwarted with facts and logic, and most people just don't give it the time it deserves. Why should they? They can easily find someone to TELL them what to think with a quick Google entry.

Add we are a nation of sound-bites into the critically-thinking-bereft category.

Ah, I am yet again guilty of using your comment section to babble... sorry!

    Good post. ;-)

  2. "We are, as a Nation, information-savvy and critical-thinking-bereft."

If you call this "babbling"...PLEASE, make a habit of it!

Your point is well taken, we can all go to the Kool-aid of choice and never taste another flavor.

In my own defense, I was a Democrat for most of my life...until 9/11, in fact. I know exactly what they think.

It was only when I finally listened to the dreaded Conservatives that I realized how morally and patriotically bankrupt the Democrats had become.

I do have a touch of "conversion extremism", I suppose.

  3. Maybe a touch... :-)

But that is what "conversion" is all about!! And it means that you THOUGHT about your direction - and the direction of the US - instead of just associating yourself with one side or another and just going along with "the party line."

I respect that, more than I can say. :-)

  4. Well, I wish I'd been a little more savvy and little damn sooner!
