Know the Battlefield

Let me add, as an addendum to the previous post:

I am not suggesting that we don't have policies, facts, programs, solutions, thought, reason, logic. We need all those things to govern...and to talk with each other.

But the snapshot, soundbite, screeching-heads, lies, character assassinations and personal attacks that we call "politics" today, requires a different set of rules and behavior.

You don't win football games by following Badminton rules on the gridiron.
And you don't win gunfights with teacups.

We need to start matching our battle-plan to the actual terrain. The Military is often accused of "fighting the last war". Let's not make the same mistake ourselves.

The stakes are too high. No. The stakes are everything in the world we hold dear.
