A Harvard student must be allowed extra break time during her nine-hour medical licensing exam so she can pump breast milk to feed her 4-month-old daughter, a Massachusetts appeals court judge ruled Wednesday.A hyperactive, dyslexic doctor with attention deficit disorder. Isn't that special. I feel so much better knowing people like her are being given every opportunity to become a brain surgeon.
Sophie Currier, 33, sued after the National Board of Medical Examiners turned down her request to take more than the standard 45 minutes in breaks during the exam. . . .
Currier already had received special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act for dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, including permission to take the test over two days instead of one.
It sounds like a Monty Python skit. And 30 years ago, that's all it would be. Now it's real. Political Correctness gone utterly mad. My advice: DO. NOT. GET. SICK.
If you insist on becoming ill, choose a white male, or an oriental male doctor. They actually have to know something to graduate from medical school.
The Gunslinger
Sadly this kind of woman gives every female doctor a bad rep.
ReplyDeleteMy boss's daughter (I'll call her "A") is in her Residency in Pediatrics. "A" worked her ass off to get there and is the most conscientious, intelligent young woman I've ever met.
It took Sophie Currier one single law suit to wipe out everything "A" has worked to attain. BTW - "A" just had a baby too... guess what - she isn't asking for any accomodation at all, she's already got everything planned.
I hate women like Ms. Currier (I won't even designate her as "Doctor" - she doesn't deserve it)
