Got one of those inevitable email lists of one-liners today. On this one, however, there was a gem.
"Jeet?" is Texan for "Did you eat?"
That just cracks me up. Had to share.

I remember when I met my first Aussie. It was 1967, and to him, "root" was slang for...f**k. He had been so embarrassed when the American stewardess asked him if he wanted Root Beer on the flight over.

Strie-ya.
Spoken, it sounds close, but written it's very odd. And that's what's so funny about "Jeet?" don't you think? If somebody said it to you, you'd understand them...but in print, it just LOOKS funny, damnit!
