In the Matrix, Neo has to choose between the Red Pill and the Blue Pill. The Red Pill awakens him to truth and independence, hard as they are. The Blue Pill keeps him in total dependency and sheep-like, if blissful, ignorance.
Do you suppose the writers were unaware of the political significance of the two colors? Or do you think they were trying to make a point?
