ReplyDeleteI think it's because there are so many people:
1) dependent on the MSM for their information
2) not prepared by American education to actually "think" but rather to "recite" the Liberal dogma
3) There are a lot of...um...cognitively challenged people among us...by nature.
It is SUPPOSED to be the job of the educated, wise and intelligent to help those less gifted understand the world. In our case, the educated, or rather, OVER-educated class is in the grip of mindless idiocy and mental disorder, apparent race/culture guilt, and a death wish.
So this is the sort of decision- making and self-destructive philosophy we end up with.
Is it the product of wealthy decadence? Regret? Bad parenting? Being spoiled?
Every time I revisit the issue, I realize that the 60's generation (mine, unfortunately) who really brought this disease into the mainstream, was the first American generation who was never "hungry" in any sense of the word. We were spoiled by peace, relative wealth, and parents who gave us everthing "they never had".
And they never kicked our asses so that we could become adults. Just look around at people in their 50's...they're still spoiled, selfish, self-referential, insulated, self-exalting.
We were the "pig in the python" the generation of which there were more than any other. Culture was overwhelmed by our sheer numbers...not because our ideas were better. Too many mindless sheep, unheedful of tomorrow's needs, mindful only of immediate appetite will destroy the grazing field and starve thereafter. Too many selfish people, thinking only of their own interests, will swamp the boat and drown everyone.
