ReplyDeleteAs to what comes next, I was thinking that we should all marry ourselves and claim spousal benefits that the state will have to pay since we will make very high demands on ourselves that cannot be met.
All kidding aside, I think some forms of incest will be next, particularly among Muslims. Cousins are a favorite but it could go further later.
Finally, why not some form of pet relationship. I don't think that would be called marriage, not yet at least, but may produce some hand-crafted legislation. Perhaps San Francisco could get working on that (or am I so naïve and don't know they have that already?)
Just remember, now there are no limits. Without question polygamy and polyandry will be quickly before the courts. There is simply no longer any plausible argument against them.
ReplyDeleteI wanna say "you reap what you sow", but I'd guess the gay marriage proponents won't see anything wrong with multiple person marriage. After all it's all—and only— about who you luuuuuuuuuuv.
