Just heard a short discussion about why there is evil and suffering in the world if God is good and loving. (Atheists favorite question; the one they think is a huge stumbling block for believers...) There was a complicated attempt at an answer, but I think it's utterly simple:
God did not create evil (and suffering), Man accepted it in order to be free.
It's so simple I guess it's hard for the over-educated to get their heads around.When everyone's free, shit happens. Sometimes BAD shit.
People who ask the question don't understand freedom—and are afraid of it!
To blame God for for the problem of evil and suffering is an infantile response to the wild, wonderful risks of freedom.
