Friday Comment Gold

Another edition of Comment Gold....gleaned from around the Web:

"If we were to split the country in two separate countries with a liberal half and a conservative half how long do you think the liberal half would exist? I'd give it three to five years before it crumbles under it's own policies and then is invaded by Mexico and China. They would have no credible military defense. And no money."

*

"We have all the data [Cuba, Detroit, California] we need to conclude that liberalism/progressivism is a failed ideology." "Yes, but "our" liberals are so much smarter, all those other failed states/countries just didn't raise enough taxes, spend enough money, create enough government hoops to jump through, or just care enough. No by golly, "our" liberals will get it right, even if they have to bankrupt every hard working producer to do it."

*

"If you want to understand the insane musings of liberals, particularly the pretentious "intellectual" ones, you only need to understand one thing:

Nearly every theory they propose, every position they take, and every policy they advocate is intended solely to demolish any concept of right versus wrong and thereby to give license to any behavior they happen to desire, and to ensure that their actions and beliefs are consequence-free. This, of course, is why they are generally so repulsed by the notion of a God, who no matter how loving, still has standards by which they refuse to abide."

[Most people assume that if we separated into two countries, one Liberal and one Conservative, the Liberal country would rapidly turn into Cuba, Venezuela or Detroit. I tend to agree...because we have the very concrete examples of....well....Cuba, Venezuela and Detroit. But here's another theory. And given the previous comment about Liberals, God and Libertinism...this guy just might have a point. He imagines the economic base for such a place. /gun]

An Economic Base for Eviltopia

Pigressive-Land would sell Central American invader-peasant-children for porn, sex exports and market child prostitutes to tourists, like Thailand.

Theaters and auditoriums would perform live Shirley Temple donkey shows with screaming, torture-ravaged 12 year olds on stage deigned consensual by HoWood, Pelosi and Ginsburg.

They would develop vast networks of Fetal Spas: abortions and fetus grinding in the basement, fetal creme massage upstairs.

Gender and species change surgeries? Their specialty.

Pigressives would sponsor jihad against Conservative-Land and pay bounties for beheading Christians, which service they would market as subcontractors to Boko Haram and ISIS and Hamas.

Cartel Pharmacies would provide international trade and a tax base and a military component, not to mention marinating society in narcotics.

In short, Pigressive-Land would extol all seven deadly sins and invent new and worse horrors as utopian pleasure for their elites and shared for a price with tourist-deviants from across the planet, all served by a slave class of drugged peasants and shell shocked victims of their own democrat-collectivist gullibility.

The Liberal Speaks:
"Gender is more than biology, the simple explanation is found in Quantum Physics. Matter is an illusion my brother. Nothing is actually physical, we are 'biological computers' in a sense where our brain is simply decoding the senses through electromagnetic frequencies. Everything is connected, (quantum entanglement)."

The Conservative Answers:
"Matter is an illusion until someone punches you in the nose."

[Talking about "transgenders" who believe they should be welcomed with open arms into the United States military. Cogently stated, I thought. /gun]

"The military doesn't need mentally ill people.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "TRANSGENDER." There are two and ONLY two sexes, and except for the vanishingly small fraction of the population who are born with legitimate genetic sexual abnormalities, a person is exactly the sex his or her genitalia would indicate, and that his or her XY or XX chromosomes confirm. This remains true no matter what clothing choices, hormone therapy, or surgical alteration he or she might undertake to deny that reality.

A man who thinks he is a "woman in a man's body" is mentally ill. He (or a woman in the opposite situation) is suffering a serious delusion, as assuredly as the 80-pound anorexic who, despite all the evidence to the contrary, still believes she is too fat. It is as unethical to humor these delusions (or for a physician to take part in mutilating people, to help them disguise themselves as the opposite sex) as it would be to encourage the anorexic to diet, or for a doctor to perform liposuction on her.

As people suffering mental illness, so-called "transgenders" deserve not hostility, but compassion (at least for their condition, though not necessarily any efforts they make to characterize it as "normal.") However, that does not mean we should coddle them by accommodating their fantasies; an essential part of showing compassion would be to refuse to honor such a person's "choice," as their refusal to accept reality should have no bearing on our own recognition of it.

Our disdain should fall not on the victims of a "transgender" mental disorder, but should be reserved more for the politically-correct liberal idiots who indulge and reinforce their delusions by trying to legitimize their unfortunate self-deceptions.

Once the state of science has advanced enough that a person’s 23rd chromosome CAN be changed from XY to XX (or the reverse) I might even be inclined to admit that, "yes, OK, that guy really HAS changed his sex" (although I'll be damned if I'd want to see taxes paying for it.)

But until then, it's just the same as if I decided to wear a toupe: I might look different, but I'm STILL bald.

  1. That's really an excellent set of comments. I assume you found and streamed together comments from different places, so kudos to you, too.

It's hard to pick out a favorite place in there, but I'm fond of the reference to idiots claiming quantum physics as justification for everything. I've always wanted to say, "If there's no such thing as objective reality, I invite you to step off the top of the tallest nearby building in sincere subjective belief that the edge wasn't there. If there's no objective reality, you're not going to fall. "

  2. Agreed!

I suppose there may be some dimension that would allow such a thing, but neither the bodies of the idiots claiming quantum physics arguments nor mine lives there.

    Ouch!
