This may seem like a distinction without a difference, but I don't think so.
I was just reading this. Indeed, I just finished the first paragraph (so don't hold me to anything said after that) when this suddenly occurred to me.
It's time we stopped saying and acting like, and feeling like we are "Fighting the Tide of Growing Progressivism"...
...and start calling it, and feeling like and acting like we're "Ushering in the New Era of Conservatism" (or "Liberty", or "Libertarianism"...or "Classical Liberalism" or whatever)
Let's start acting like OUR philosophy is inevitable. Let's start acting like OUR policies are inevitable. Let's start acting and talking like OUR rise is inevitable. Let's start acting and talking like history and the future are on OUR side.
It can't hurt, and it'll sure be more fun to be optimistic.
And besides, it will drive the Liberals CRAZY.
Let's start laughing at people who bend over for Big Brother.
In fact, let's come up with a cruel name for them....something that reeks of dependence, weakness, infantilism, pre-pubescence, mental deficiency, hairlessness (!).
Something like...."cupcake"
Or maybe an appropriate character from literature or movies....?
Suggestions welcome.
