This morning at 9:08 am, Thursday, November 28, Thankgiving Day, 2013, my number one boy, Rocketman, rose up singin', spread his wings and took to the sky.
I will miss him all the days of my life. He was an extraordinary friend to me, and a wonderful companion for the last 17 years.
God speed, my darling. I'll see you there.
Momma

the hardest part of having pets. . . . I try to remember this poem when that time comes. . .

Heartfelt condolences, GS. It's one of the hardest things to go through in life - in some ways harder than losing human friends.
ReplyDeleteI can remember distinctly each time it's happened in my life, from when I was 10 or so (100 years ago!).
Hope you're feeling better.

Sorry GS -- that's one fine looking cat. I've got a couple older dogs I'm worried about. There's a lot of people who don't rate above our pets.
DeleteHe is among frends for both Nike and Ajax have preceded him. my buddies all.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss of your fur-friend! I know your pain. I lost my Charlie back on April 1. I miss him so...
ReplyDeleteIt helped me to organize as many pictures of him as I could find, and then a couple months later, I made a scrapbook of his life with us, on Shutterfly.
How fortunate you were to have that fine kitty for so long. We just lost Ned after 9 years (think of Chuck Norris in a cat suit) to FIV. Our families have been diminished by one.
